Found what causes SILENCE AND LAG!!!

No task killers. Got rid of ATK a while ago.
 
I've had this issue randomly, i used ATK pre 2.1, but never post. I do use ES Task Manager, but that is set to kill manually for a few apps that dont turn off. I get this bug totally randomly, and im working with verizon right now to get my phone replaced as its been 6 months dealing with it... I can never reproduce it at will, its just random.
 
I've found that it has not failed that my phone will get the silent bug after I have used the camera. The next call will ring for a split second then go quiet. When I try to answer the call I cannot hear the caller and they can't hear me. I'm running OTA 2.1. I have done a factory reset and do not use a task killer, but nothing has helped. I also have noticed my camera will make a weird clicking sound when using the barcode app that I have not heard before. It's not like the "shutter sound", but sounds like something in the camera is physically clicking.

I'm getting a replacement because I dropped my phone on gravel this weekend and shattered the screen (le sigh...). So, fingers crossed the replacement does not have the bug.

I have been getting this very randomly as well. Even today, everything was fine... I took a nap, and woke up to find out that I missed a call and a text message because no sound. Had to restart my phone. And no camera use at all today, so I know that's not the issue. This is getting very irritating though :mad:
 
I bought new Phicomm i600 but when I make calls to someone, the call doesn't stop but only my voice stops and they cann't hear anything just silence. After I press Hold button and return to call everything it's OK. What should I do?

Hey elissam, welcome to our AndroidForums.

I see you've also posted in the Other Android devices area, which is probably the right place since the Eris and the Phicomm i600 are undoubtedly vastly different devices.

The solution for this issue on the Eris was an improperly secured file that was ultimately addressed by an over-the-air update. It's not necessarily the same issue for your device or issue.

Anyway, best of luck and hopefully someone else will be able to reply with a solution in your other thread.
