Thanks for the tread. After a bit of trial and error I was able to root my friend's phone with the Framaroot 1.4.3 apk listed in the XDA thread using the Gandalf method.

I tried using Framaroot 1.5.1 today on a Marquee with the Sprint ZVC ROM and it apparently didn't work. I picked the Gimli exploit and it then took me back to the home screen. Is that what it's supposed to do?

I then rebooted the phone and tried using ROM Manager to get CWM. RM downloads CWM and then reports it is not given the needed super user access to complete the process.

Am I doing something wrong or does this not work with a ZVC ROM?

I had this problem too...it has something to do with the Superuser app. Try SuperSU instead.

when installing superuser, the proper permissions aren't given, they are only granted to the superuser app, some simple steps must be done to allow system wide su support.
