Root Frankenrom is alive.

Has anybody noticed the Gmail WiFi issue with this rom? I have been looking for a rom that does not suffer from the issue where Gmail does not push when you are on WiFi. I have been searching all day, and I believe that the rom and kernal are big contributors to this bug. Currently, I am on virtous 3.01, with Hydra, and I have the issue. I really liked Frankenrom the last time I was on it, but my constant need to flash and try new things moved me to Ruby for a long while, and now I am going back to searching for a full functioning rom.

Also, has anybody tried any themes with release 1.1, such as this

I'm running Virtuous 3.0.1 also and have tried it on both the stock kernel and the King #4 and didn't have the gmail issue you are referring to. Sorry not much more help but try switching kernels?

I just forwarded an email from another email service to my Gmail account while my Dinc was on WiFi running FrankenRom 1.1 and stock kernal. I got the notification in about 8 seconds.

been playing with IncDoes MIUI, IncDoes DesireHD and Virtuous.....figured it's time to return to the Frank

What themes are people running? I was running Manup456's REVOlution theme and I loved it - but was wondering if it's been updated or there's another cool one I should check out
 
I've been reading the ID MIUI and DesireHD threads as well but prefer to run "less beta" stuff for Daily Drivers. I rely too much on some of the things that can be intermittent in early beta ports, etc....that's life/work.

I haven't dabbled in themes, Sense just seems to suit me really well.

I have done some more testing last night and today, and this is the conclusion I have come up with. Not rom or Kernal dependant. Seems like at work I don't get the push unless I am actively on the phone at the time the push comes, otherwise I have to manually sync. At home, the push is working fine (all WiFi). 3g always works. I think that at work, since I connect through the guest port, that push does not work due to settings in the firewall. Asking around people, only those who use enterprise are getting push when on WiFi, otherwise you have to either run 3g or manually sync.

I hate ghost chases...but I learned something in the process...that everything is working as it should and work's WIFI sucks

I just flashed MIUI and think it's pretty cool, not quite ready for everyday for me. Going back to Frank in a while.
I run Riptide9's Color/Clear theme with Frank.
 
Shutdown with reboot options...

I think this was ported from the Desire HD dump.
Adds 3 reboot options to the standard shut down menu.

1. Reboot - Normal
2. Reboot - Recovery
3. Reboot - Bootloader

Found the link posted over on xda (I don't know who created it but it's for Skyraider 3.1) and it works great on frankenrom.
After I installed it I got stuck on the boot screen on the first boot but I pulled the battery and it rebooted fine. Maybe I didn't wait long enough.

Has anyone tried the free "juice defender" with this rom? I did and it discovers "4g" LOL... The prog seems to do what it says, at least marginally... I'm going to give it time to actually see if it works before scrapping it or getting the pay version...
 
Hello. This is probably a stupid question, but can I use the 3G mobile hot spot app which is preloaded with F1.1 without having the service from verizon. It pops up says you need it to use it, which I dont have.

I don't want to say the extra damn charge every month....

I use wireless tether instead, which Adrynylene included in this ROM in the frank_files directory on the sdcard.
 
Does anyone have a mirror for this or perhaps PM me a link to the complete file? All my attempts to download result in incomplete files.
