Root Freezing or bootloops with every ROM!!!

Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on my issues. I rooted about 3 weeks ago with, seemingly, no issues. I made sure I followed the instructions in SURoots sig including erase size.

My issues have appeared after flashing a ROM. I started with CM7, following all instructions, however after an hour or so the screen froze so had to pull the battery. This happened everytime i booted the phone on, sometimes not getting past the CM7 splash screen.

I then tried Leedroid, however this was even worse, just getting stuck in a permanent boot loop.

I am now running Gingervillain which is by far the most stable on my handset, however it still freezes at least every other day & often reboots it self.

I have no idea what to do next and will be eternally grateful for some advice from yo wonderful people :D

flash it back to stock and see if it does the same
if it does then you have a hardware fault which is usually cpu/mobo related

i think its coincidence that you have rooted. if its affecting all roms you try then im certain there is something else going on

Right i'm back to stock and all seems quiet on the western front. No lags, freezing or reboots!!!.

Any chance it could maybe be a corrupt partition on the SD card?

I would try again using gparted. (see the guide on here). Make a backup of your sd card and copy to pc, then wipe extension and recreate using gparted. If this doesn't help i'm a bit out of my depth, im sure suroot, rasta or hadron will have other ideas.

It appears that it was a dodgy partition!!!! Finally managed to partition the card using GParted, after a long drawn out fight with a rubbish CD burner, which has produced me 6 lovely new coasters!!!

Now rerooted & reflashed gingervillain & all appears to be stable.

Thanks for your help guys.

Its getting ridiculous now. I estimate about 50% of the problems we help to fix currently are caused by ROM manager.
I've alerted other Guides to keep an eye on the correlation of ROM Manger and failures with other (HTC) devices.
