Fresh 2.0!

Yes it does have Sense. And the weather on the Home screen is pretty cool. Full weather across the screen.
That's so cool!
So, with a working camera, I was hoping to try Google Goggles but it doesn't even show up in the marketplace.

Just flashed 2.0b and rebooted a few times and no Google signin error. Maybe coincidence because it's not listed as a fix, and the signin error is still a known bug.

Fixed from 2.0 to 2.0b:
* A broken image in the espresso toolbar
* Fixed some icons in Mail that were missing color
* Removed GSD.apk

Something funky happened to me today. I called myself from my work office to leave a voicemail to check out the VM notification and see if I could check my messages. My office number (which is programed in my phone book) came up as a contact from Facebook with her picture. Very strange. The SMS I got telling me I had a voice mail was the same as well. I don't even have that person as a contact in my phone list.

Going to check into what that is all about. Very odd.

The facebook sync isn't working yet, so if you're attempting to use it, it's going to bring up incorrect pictures/names. It's all over the xda thread on this topic.

So the only problems I have been having are with my phone vibrate function.

1. Haptic feedback will still not shut off no matter what I try.
2. Handcent will not vibrate on txt receive in any mode.

at least we're civil over here, and not bitching like the people on XDA...lol

Time for me to flash it, anything special I should know?

...sadly, won't have a heck of a lot of time to play with it today :(

That must be it. I was tinkering with Facebook and generally it imported my Facebook pictures/info. But when I got a call from a known contact it blew up and connected it with a random person.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check out XDA forums to read up on it.

OK total noob question. So please bear with me.

I am currently running fresh 1.1 and I want to go to the new one (planning on donating for it)

I understand that I have to do a Wipe prior to the install which means when I boot into the new rom all my settings and apps will be gone. Correct?

Is the using a program like titanium backup the easiest way to get all the apps and settings back? Will titanium not backup some things, if so what?

PS- I of course will do a nandroid backup prior to any of this.

Thanks a bunch.

titanium backup will back up your apps, and I believe it can do your settings as well (not sure on the settings).

Note: If you're using SetCPU now, do NOT use it on the new Fresh ROM. I noticed right away that the phone was lagging, and had read that Fresh 2.0 uses HTC power manager (or something like that), and SetCPU only conflicts with it, causing issues. The minute I uninstalled SetCPU and rebooted, it flies again

Ok so I flashed to the 2.0b and like what I see as far a android 2.1 is concerned but how do I get things like my old text messages back and contact pictures and things like that?
Or do you have to just sort of start from scatch every time you upgrade rom's?

I really want to flash this ROM but there are just too many things that still don't work that I use daily.

I know...I feel the same way. Not having a camcorder is a bummer because I use to capture short videos of my kids. I think, hope, that the Sprint 2.1 update will be out this month, and then hopefully we will have a fully functional ROM shortly afterward.

Things are really moving along! Can't wait for a fully working 2.1!

I was unable to connect to the phone from adb shell command.

$ adb shell
error: insufficient permissions for device

I was delighted to be able to tether my debian machine!

Just a heads up - Good luck getting SU to work with the 2.0 ROM

This rom is awesome!! Running smooth so far.

Sorry to put this here but given no access to protected apps on this rom, would anyone kindly upload the free Yelp app?

is there a way to get rid of the lockscreen and make it like the standard one? That is, how do I get the slide-sideways to unlock screen again? I've been reading reports that just pulling the htclockscreen file just messes things up...

Incase anyone had the same problem, don't use Facebook sync. If you do, it'll seem to be working correctly and assign your pictures and so forth ... but when you get calls/texts, they will all get assigned to a random contact (it seems to be happening quite a bit across the board).

The solution for now, if you've already synced your contacts with Facebook, is to go into SETTINGS->Accounts & Sync ->Select Facebook and Remove account. This fixed it for me immediately.

My pictures still are synced up with my contacts, but now my caller ID is working again.

I have a real strange problem since I flashed this firmware. If someone calls me from an unknown number my phone always displays one contact in particular. Doesn't matter what the unkown callers number is, it will just display his name and picture by default.

Any ideas?
BTW I haven't used or turned on Facebook Sync

New ROM is working fine on my phone. Ended up doing a wipe and then installing it. May not have needed to do that if I had justed waited longer for the phone to finish booting after the first install. It was stuck on the HTC logo so I pulled the battery. Wiped, re-installed, and just about everything seems to be working so far. Pretty slick. It's like getting a new phone all over again. Battery life is sucking today, but that is only because I haven't stopped playing with the phone yet.
