Fresh 2.1.2 out

Is anyone running 2.1.2 having issues with the phone overheating during phone calls. Its killing my battery during phone calls.

Anyone using TitaniumBackup with 2.1.2?

It's not working for me unfortunately...:(

I load it up and it just says: Loading...

When I loaded it up the first time it said I didn't have root, which I know is bogus...obviously.

It also said I didn't have BusyBox, so I downloaded that using the suggested link within TB. Or at least I tried to. It keeps hanging at 99%. I've let it sit there for an hour and a half and nothing changes.

I've killed it, rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. etc. Nada.

:( Even gave it a day and tried again without success.

Posted up on the support forums and am awaiting a reply but thought I would see if anyone has any luck here. Running 3.1.7.

Loaded it last night, and here is what I have noticed so far.

Battery life seems a lot shorter, went from 100% to 66% in 2 hours.

Bluetooth works for phone but does not work for visual voicemail, it did work on 2.1.1.

So far that is what I noticed today.

What's the average "Free Space" after loading 2.1.2?

i didn't do a wipe and install...but for me coming from 2.1.1 upgrading to 2.1.2 = 78mb free vs. 39mb free.

I'd venture to guess the average person probably gets around 95mb free for a clean install.

Do you think it's because you're using it more right now?

I know I've been using my phone a LOT more than normal in the last 24 hours since flashing the new rom.

i upgraded from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2 also and it went from 95mb to only about 38mb. are you saying that if i do a wipe and clean install of 2.1.2 i will get more free mb instead of doing an upgrade? 2.1.2 is running really smooth and im using the launcher pro instead of sense. i will fully charge battery and see what the battery life with 2.1.2 is but so far it seems like it drains it more than 2.1.1

So I just flashed 2.1.2 today and ran into two items I need help with.

I'm trying to change the ringtone for one of my contact, but I don't see the custom ones that I've put on the phone like before. All I am seeing is the orginal phone options. Is there something I can do to correct that, or do I have to move the ringtones to a different folder (where the other official ringtones are stored)?

I also turned off the haptic feedback in the options, but the HTC_IME keyboard is still providing the haptic feedback. Any help there? Do I need to use the other crappy keyboard? I see that people are reporting no lag in landscape, and that is one of the things I can't stand the most.

Okay, figured out the haptic feedback, but any help with the ringtones will be nice.
I still have a bit of lag in landscape mode....oh well.

Otherwise, Flipz is a rockstar!!

When I noticed it draining I had it on the car charger, got home took it off the charger went inside and did some work on the PC for a couple of hours. So I wasn't using it at all at the time. I did not do the wipe, so I will try that tonight when I get home.

Also noticed today that I had a couple of events go off today and when I swiped the bar down to dismiss it they would only go into snooze. I ended up having to go into the event and change the alarm to none to get it to stop.

One more thing I did both of the su patches, was I supposed to or was I supposed to do only one of them?

I find that strange that you lost more memory than i did doing and upgrade. doing a clean install will give u more space, but i don't think it means you'll not lose that space once you reinstall all your apps and synchronize your data. i believe 2.1.2 is a fatter OS because things are de-odexed or w/e it says on his site - to make things run faster and to allow for modifications. With less than 40mb on the device - i feel - things seem to run slower for me than in 2.1.1. Which is why I reverted back.

I noticed a slightly strange behavior since upgrading from stock ROM to 2.1.x (it happens in both 2.1.1 and 2.1.2) and wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue. When I received a new Gmail notification in the upper notification bar and clicked on it, in stock 1.5 ROM it took me to the email list from where I could click on the email to read it. Now, in Fresh 2.1.x, when I click on the notification, it takes me straight into that email, but the notification doesn't clear out and stays in the notification bar. When I pull it down and click on it again, this time it takes me to the email list just like 1.5 did and this time the new Gmail notification is cleared out. It's not a huge deal, but still a little annoying having to click the notification twice to clear it out.

2.1.1 was odexed.... 2.1.2 is deodexed.. by being deodexed it will take up more room that a ROM that is odexed. that's the biggest difference between 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. so no, wiping and then flashing won't give you all that space back..

Is it just me or with 2.1.2 when i open the browser somekind of error box pops up but quickly disappears?

I just noticed it, too. It only happens when you open the browser for the first time after a reboot. I guess it may also happen after you close the browser with a Task Manager app, but I don't use those so I can't confirm it.
