Fresh 2.3.3 Released

Thanks.... I got Ti Back Up working finally.
all my calendar appts were thru my google acct on my phone but for some reason they never showed up on-line. Messed around with it a bit this AM and got it covered. Am now running 2.3.3 with no data loss from wipe.

Cheers!

Any one flashed this rom over a previous fresh rom? I'm using 2.0d, would it be ok if I flashed this new rom over it? Anyone had success doing it this way?

I flashed 2.11 over 2.0d...then flashed 2.12 over 2.1.1 and tried flashing 2.3.3 over that and it wasn't happy..
get titanium backup from the market (free works fine) and backup all your apps.. wipe...flash...load titanium from teh market and restore your apps (with data and market links)

did you flash the Vanilla lock screen? if you did, you also need the vanilla clock and have to set your alarms in that. the HTC clock can not be used with the vanilla lock screen for that very reason.

yep, i have to do that too (get the clock also) but one question - do i have to "remove/wipe" anything first? or do i simply use the fresh updater app to download the "lock+clock" and will overwrite?

OKAY HERO USERS HERE IS THE BIZ!!

After using the new ROM 2.3.3 for almost a week now, I personally have not experienced any upgraded performance over the previous. With regard to Battery life, which is certainly a hot issue, I have not seen the increase like others have. In fact, it seems that it has decreased a bit. I'll admit that I use the wireless tether app at least 2hours daily, but the most I can get from a single charge is 7-8 hours before I have to recharge.

When I first flashed the ROM it seems that the LAG I experienced before was decreased, but after a few days it was back to the same way it was before. When sending text MSG especially, the LAG is awful.

I congratulate the one's who have upgraded and got better performance, but as for me.. seemingly no change what so ever!! Take care forum & I hope a new ROM drops pretty quick that will help my HERO!!

....Regards

wireless tether will burn through battery real fast... now if you want a fast rom that I have found to be lag free so far... check out Froyo..it's not 100% yet... but it's real close.

anyone know how to get themes? i see it in the updater but theres no server listed. i read somewhere to use default fresh server, but whats that?

Yes I did, and then after looking at work I realized how dumb my post was. lol

Not a well titled post IMO. Ive been using this ROM for just over a week with heavy use, the only time I've experienced lag or battery issues is at work due to a very low signal (something the stock ROM had issues with also) Tethering is a great way to burn through a battery, why someone would tether without charging at the same time is anyones guess. I'm sorry you've found this ROM not to your liking, and thank you for posting your experiences.

I flashed to this a few days ago and am loving it. Only thing that's weird is unchecking the haptic feedback doesn't actually turn it off.

Thanks, Flipz, for a great custom rom!

Okay, I'm new to this rooting and flashing ROMs thing. So I have a few questions. What are the draw-backs to some of these ROMs? For example when flashing Fresh 2.3.3, are there any capabilities I will loose? Also do any of these ROMs take care of the dredded dialer lag?

Phones been pretty laggy recently. I was running OCed at 710 and noticed that if i installed OCwidget, things would start to get hairy. Lag would increase, scrolling stuttered a lot, and then this morning, my alarm was really laggy, then on the second snooze, it wouldn't turn off. i woke the phone up and turned off the alarm and it was still going off! Had to pull the battery. And this was running the stock HTC alarm with NO vanilla anything.

Also had another issue running OC widget, when i tired to use the stock android power widget to adjust brightness, it took forever! uninstalled OCW and it worked great again. did this on 2 different OCed kernals.

Wiped and started from scratch this afternoon so i'll see how it goes now...

i lost my clock. i needed my alarm to work and i wanted the vanilla lockscreen, so i downloaded the third option inthe updater and it deleted the htc clock. i did not realize it would erase the flip clock /weather widget. how do i get it back? and shouldnt there be a clock on the lock screen? and a answer slider when a call comes in?

Any other custom lockscreens that can be used on Fresh 2.3.3 instead of the vanilla?
Edit: After installing Vanilla, my phone became super laggy. I'm hoping that in the next couple of days the lag will become better.

heyy all. im kinda new to this whole rom thing. i flashed fresh 2.3.3 last night and im looovin it. i got 3 minor issues tho.

1: my scenes never save right. i try and set one and save it with a live wallpaper and once i hit the lockscreen and i open my phone, my wallpaper always changes. its kinda frustrating. should i just remove all my scenes and change it as i go? also when i change my scenes i have to manually change my lock screens. is anyone else getting this issue?

2: no sprint nav. im currently on an extended vacation and the regular nav sucks ass. cant figure out how to get the latest sprint nav back onto my phone. pleeeease help me!

3: (definitely least) how would i go about gettin NFL live on my phone? im already missin it. :/

EDIT: scratch 2&3, found them in a fresh removed APKS folder on my sd card. i kinda feel like an idiot now.

as for the battery life its been phenomenal. i'm just runnin it basic and messin with it like crazy. its unbelievable to think that a rom can make that much of a difference

I just flashed the vanilla lock screen using auto updater that came with this rom and i was thinking about trying a different one. My question is: Can I just flash another one over the current one, or would it be safer just to do a nandroid restore and go from there?

speaking of the vanilla lock screen, the updater did not work, I had to manually flash it, at least the one w/ vanilla clock. then i just use app vault to hide the HTC clock. Further, why is removing HTC clock considered stable now? Doesn't that cause problems with Sense, Weather, Widgets, or something to that effect?
