Root Fresh Evo 3.1.0.1 now available (based off official 2.2 OTA)

So I'm on Fresh 3.1.0.1, and I updated the radio and wimax.

I am interested in flashing this Netarchy-Toastmod Kernal, but have a couple of questions.

What will not work after I flash it?
What will start working, or will be different/better?
What special instructions are there for flashing it (do I have to clear any caches/data, or just flash it in AmonRA recovery and reboot)?

1: The camera setting will read 3mp and shoot in 3mp....But a fix for that is just make sure your camera is set to 8mp before you flash the Kernal...It will still show 3mp in the settings but it will shoot 8mp Pictures
2:More On Screen Frames Per Second making the phone overall more smooth and the ability to overclock your Processor(Those are just the Highlights there are many more tweaks for performance..Read the release notes)
3:And i didnt do anything special i just flashed it in recovery (But make sure your camera is set to 8mp before you flash to retain the 8mp in the new kernal)

In Addtion if your want Wifi Tether to work your gonna have to use this apk...

Wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre7.apk Doesnt work with this kernal you have to get version 6
 
So can somebody break down how to update so I don't screw anything up? I have fresh on 2.2....do I just boot in recovery, wipe clean, then flash new rom?

where do I find the stock kernel? I'm using netarchy's latest kernel and only taking 3mp shots (I checked the resolution)?

Wow. I have seen this barcode scanner appl in rom mgr for a month and 1st time using it to pull down that tether appl.

gotta love this android platform and OS!

You can try it. The scrolling feels really laggy compare to the rooted odexed rom (both on the menu screens and on the web browser). The good note is that the Fresh is cool looking, especially the boot up Fresh screen. Plus they removed a lot of the add on stuffs (Sprint Nav, TV, Zone, Amazon MP3, etc).
If you have luck with Fresh then give me a hollow. I like their different look.

Anyone else experiencing laggy scrolling? Or any other problems?
 
The browser is a little laggy but everything else is smooth. I think its a flash/froyo issue and I doubt any rom is going to run south with flash enabled. If you put it on in demand its fine but still a little slower but if u turn it completely off its as fast as before so has to be flash slowing it down
 
Flashed Fresh 3.1.0.1 and was able to fully reboot. I then flashed netarchy's kernel, the 8b one, and on reboot I kept getting stuck at the Bot fresh screen. I rebooted back into recovery, wiped data and cache again, reflashed 3.1 and still getting stuck.

Any suggestions?



EDIT: Did back up Nand but its backed up to the HTC kernel.

After a few wipes and reflash I was able to reboot fully to the homescreen. Tried to flash netarchy's 3.7.8b kernel again and now stuck again at the Fresh Bot screen.

Help!?

Did you get the 3.7.8b Fresh Compatiable Version? Because theres the regular 3.7.8b and theres the Fresh Compatible version thats the one im using
 
Two things.

Is google navigation not included in the fresh package? I don't see it.

Also, the HTC stock widget, that not enabled as well?

How can I get these back?
 
In ur sd card the maker of the Rom put the apks of all the apps he removed...just get a file manager and install the ones u want back on the folder is called "fresh-removed-apk3" and it has all the apks of the apps he removed
 
and i Checked my apps and Navagation is still n my phone...Its not labeled google nav it just says Navagation
 
Installed last night, runs pretty nice. Battery life is waaaaaay better than it was stock (like, full stock, I hadn't done any of the OTAs).

Only problem I've found is that it seems to be way more picky about the USB connection you give it with Fresh. There were a couple people complaining on XDA that they couldn't connect to USB after installing this ROM. Everyone's answer over there was "YOUR CABLE IS BAD SHUT UP" but uhhh that's not really the case.

I had this issue and the fix for me was plug the cable into one of the ports on the back coming directly off the the motherboard instead of the ones on the front with the extra lead running off of the board to the front panel.
 
I have mine connected to a 4 port usb hub.....and the hub isnt even usb 2.0 and i havent had any issue
