Root From Aosp back to sense... question?

I have to disagree with you Mizzou. With moderate usage in spurts (ie: angry birds, ant smasher, checking/sending emails, sending/receiving texts, phone calls, and browsing the web) I can easily get 2 days out of my Evo. Now if I'm hardly using my phone and it's idling a lot more, I have gotten 3 days + on a single charge. I have a stock battery btw.
What ROM/Kernel are you using, thats what I need lol.

Elaborate please. Is this for apps that you open but use infrequently so it kills them?

edit: that's contradictory to what we have been told about ATK. Although since they included one in GB, maybe not.

Whether you're aware or not, there are many apps running in the background at all times....some you've opened, some you haven't. When I first started using ATK I noticed things I haven't opened at all beginning to run in the background. Or you opening one app will open others up w/o you knowing, and all these processes running in the background eat up your battery. Using ATK kills those processes and apps running in the background, therefore saving you battery.

I haven't heard anything negative about using ATK. I uninstalled the version that came w/ Kings GB.

I'll have to try disabling the data, and auto-sync ... i don't get too bad battery, but i don't use my phone a lot during the day.

thanks for the tips.

Disabling data will increase your battery life tremendously.....Let me know how your Evo's battery is holding up over the next few days after implementation.

I am actually getting excited to see how it turns out, because i get lousy signal at my house, and I hear that bad signal kills battery...

What you've heard is true, when you're at a location with bad reception, your battery drains much quicker. The reason for this is because your Evo is constantly searching for a signal.

is kings GB an aosp? im using CM7 and id like to try your kernel along with turning my 3g radio off... also, if you launch an app that uses 3g, will it turn it on, then back off when you kill it? id assume not, but im asking to determine if i need to put a 3g on/off switch in my pulldown bar

If you're using an app that requires an internet connection and 3G is off, the app won't fully launch. I just turn it on before I use whatever app I'm going to use, then turn it off when I'm finished. Having a data on/off switch in your notification bar would be more convenient.

Wow. Battery is much better with auto-sync and data off.

Started the morning at 88% (not a full charge) that dropped to a 78% after one text.
Then did some angry birds and a few texts, and went to 75%, went out for three hours and when I was back my phone was at 74%, that's with a few more texts and facebook thrown in there too!

Then I did some browsing and FB checking while watching a movie (didn't turn data /auto sync off to test it..) and battery dropped to 55% after i finished the movie.

Did some texts and some more facebook, and I messed around with some settings... and now its at least fourteen hours later and my battery was at 43%.

Very, very impressed. Frenchy, instead of senior member, it should call you king of batteries.

Great tips, can't wait to see how they turn out over the next few days.

I'm glad it's working for you! Next time you fully charge your battery, wipe battery stats. Keep us posted on how your battery life is improving over the next couple days, k?
