Actually, I was just thinking about this and a simple mod/case is VERY easy to make. I'll see if I can come up with something this weekend.

Basically what I have in mind is this:

Mod an old snap on case for the X that I have- cutting out room for some mirrors to fold into. Then, with hinges, I will be able to unfold the mirrors into such a way that it angles right for a "front facing camera" type connection. Doesn't seem too hard right?

The only thing I would see that would impede that is the thickness of the folded mirrors. Not sure though if that would be too much. DEFINITELY worth a try. Who knows maybe you could patent it then sell it to a company for good money!
