I don't know if this has been posted before, but on my first search - I didn't see it.

Instead of SLIDING across to unlock the phone... you can use one finger to hold the green icon, then you'll notice a little green icon on the other side of the screen (where the sound off icon usually is, it disappears when you hold the unlock icon). Then just tap that one too and it unlocks.

It kinda works. Hold the lock with one finger..without lifting it, press and hold the green dot....then lift the finger on the lock.

It does work that way but it's still easier to just swipe it.

There is a setting where you can disable the swipe to unlock the phone altogether. just pressing the top button once and the phone comes on.
Settings/security settings and uncheck the screen lock. when the phone times out all you have to do is press the button at the top of the phone.

with the swipe to unlock feature enabled just a single tap of either the hard home key or the unlock key will bring up the swipe screen.

with the swipe to unlock screen disabled, a single touch of either unlock or hard home button will turn on the screen.

no other buttons will bring up the screen in either mode

MOTO has the worst and most difficult unlock screen ever invented. Slow, hard to use and it lags. But I wouldn't expect anything else. On the incredible you can hit the power key, menu key, unlocked.

or you dont have to get anything from the market and simply disable the screen lock in the settings and it does the same thing

The onscreen lock isnt Moto...its vanilla Android.....

Unless Motorola had its own lock screen on the Droid. They use the exact same unlock. If u gonna hate, hate with correct info....

This just worked on my Droid X flashed to Milestone (.621 to .604). Except no green dot or any dot. I press & hold the left unlock, press where the right button should be (it disappears) & then wait 2 seconds & screen is unlocked. Thanks Op.
