Froyo 2.2 for Tesco?

Hey getting my wildfire for christmas and i cant wait! Ive got a tesco mobile pay as you go and also a sim contract plan, was just wondering if anyone has got the froyo update for tesco? how does it work, does it go through o2?

Have purchased 3 Tesco Wildfires for xmas so i'm also hoping for a Froyo result soon. Like you i also wonder if it will be Tesco or O2 that actually do the update ?

Been using Froyo on my Sim Free Desire and it's a very welcome update ...
 
yeah I'm waiting on this answer too no update yet :( i phoned tesco this morning and they had no idea what I was talking about lol and said that they werent the people I should talk to.... So ive emailed HTC and hoping for an answer if not i guess the only option is to debrand the phone.... which I dont really want to do :/ but yer keep me posted on your guys progress and ill let you know mine :)
 
OK, Ive now had a reply from HTC, they said that as far as they know it IS coming for tesco mobile from tesco themselves and the updates are normally rolled out one network at a time with vodaphone and t-mobile being first. They said just to wait and it should be here soon :) yay lol. Quite impressed with HTC customer service actually replied very very quickly! So hopefully tesco froyo update soon!!
 
well ive heard some people say o2 have released it and apparently its o2 that offer the update for tesco customers. well ill let you guys know on christmas when i get my wildfire :)
 
nope nothing this morning :( I also heard that o2 dont support the wildfire so its unlikely to be them giving the update..... will just have to hope it comes soon likely to be in the new year now. At least we arent the only network not to get it, 3 and virgin havent got it either....
 
Mine is on Tesco as is my wifes. Purchased from Tesco and both were updated on the day the release was announced.

Are you sure ? Tesco have not released the Froyo update yet. Only update that the Tesco wildfire has recieved in last few days is the Market Update.
 
Would be nice if Tesco had some kind of support. I asked them about Froyo and they did not even know what i was talking about.

i'm also on virgin and got a reply today from a recent e-mail saying that they have not got it yet but when it becomes available will get a notification sent to the phone dont really think they know what they are doing to be honest
 
well, nothing still but someone asked HTC again and they said it should be rolling out soon so hopefully tescos pull their finger out lol

and I said virgin didnt have it a long time ago....... before you had it lol.... oh well so yer hopefully we will get froyo soon :o)
 
Tesco phones are unbranded therefore HTC will be rolling it out. I spoke to HTC today thats what they told me today.

mine is locked to tesco and i have a tesco sim so ill get it from htc or tesco? surely htc would have released it by now?
 
do a manual check
remember there are only a limited number of download slots on the server when its full it will show that there is no update available check every hour just to be safe.

I would take the battery and sim out for a few seconds and try again.
 
mines locked on tesco.... ive tried everything even resetting the phone to factory settings, nothing works, HTC seemed sure when I spoke to them that tesco would be rolling it out on their own and hopefully pretty soon..... my tesco wildfire has tesco mobile internet so i guess it is branded........ just keep hoping lol

and i do check manually everyday, still nothing :(
 
Well im in same boat,got two tesco wildfires and awaited the infamous update,however, cousin has vodaphone and got update ,its NOT worth the hype or time checking for updates.
Before it came out there was roumours of live wallpaper,camera upgrade,storage to sd card,cpu accelerator.....none of them,what ya actually get at face value is a different torch,and a mobile wifi point,
Hyped up to sell more wildfires,i prefer the old hero.ill wait and get update and throw it on ebay ..more like froNO than froyo
 
you can move apps to sd with froyo, just some apps don't support it, thats what im really waiting for tbh got a 32gb sd card but still cant install that many apps lol. We can still hope lol 3 havent released their yet so we still arent the last :/
