Root Froyo Development

thanks man, im a lil new, and anytime ur free i would love to pm u so maybe i could pick up so knoledge of things like this
 
So i would have though that froyo would be getting close to released for the ally. Anybody heard anything about LG releasing it or a dev releasing it for ally.
 
I would love to hear some news from LG or from Dev's about froyo for the ally. Seems as though it's becoming more of a dream.

Did anyone ever get a froyo rom running on the ally? If so whatever happened to it's development.
 
Ooh so we're starting to tinker with getting 2.2 figured out ourselves? Sounds good to me. Shouldn't be too much of a challenge to beat LG to the punch, they don't seem to have any updates for us. If anyone can pull it off, I trust the guys around here who know what the heck they are doing.
 
okay so I built a rom using a couple methods, but I have no idea why it doesn't boot and am unsure where to start to fix it.

The below link has the file.

IT DOES NOT BOOT!

but I would like someone to play with it a bit and see if they can get it to boot. I used CWM to flash it, so that COULD be a problem itself. Also, the ROM and OTA package were built separately with separate methods. If someone wants to put it in a different package that might help. There's a lot of things that I would like to try myself, but am sharing to see if we can get this done faster. Thanks!

Could you provide any more details? Were you able to extract logs? How did you flash it? I'm aware it doesn't boot when flashed with CWM, but I'd like to know if any other methods worked. Also, I'm interested if anyone is able to test the kernel alone. I'm not sure if the package is broken or the kernel.
 
no logs sorry =/ im not super advanced in all this yet but i did use clockwork and i just did install zip and it did weird install it said it was updating. i dont like amon-ra and dont use it and not sure how to test kernal and stuff seperatly id love to help as i want froyo like a fat kid wants candy
 
When i tested this a week or two ago my phone booted to an "ADNROID_" like loading screen. Then would reboot into the custom recovery. I was also using drellisdee's recovery.
 
Any chance you could post up the zip you flashed? Or perhaps offer so insite about how you built your rom?
 
I flashed a version that that thelostsoul came to irc looking for help with about two weeks ago.

All attempts I tried had same result. Init is broken. Also, prelinked map is diff from aosp as lg doent use aosp they use code aurora sources. Code Aurora Eclair coffee branch was used by LG for eclair.
