Awesome. I just got opimus one dump. I offered to make them a recovery and got a dump uploaded next day after I posted dumping directions. Its downloading now.

Excellent. This was exactly what I was considering.

Thats fantastic! Is this from the Verizon version of the Optimus One aka the Vortex or the Tmobile Optimus One?

Its from the UK optimus one with a hvga screen and msm7227 processor which is the no cdma version of ours. The vortex runs an omap 3630 clocked at 600mhz. Droid X and droid 2 run 1ghz omap 3630. I wonder if lg got a deal on production fallout 3630's that couldnt clock to 1ghz.
 
Well update on froyo. Its not going so well. I tried porting the lg opt one which is a hvga mdpi device and it almost finished booting but had an error in power service. Didnt quite make it to setup wizard. Bad news is I left a melfas firmware bin in that got executed by ally kernel and permantly reclaibrated the touch screen all off. Im going to wait for lg to release froyo as Im stuck and its beyond my limited skill level. On another note Im going to be working on trying to build an ally .32 kernel and maybe a .34 or .35 if all goes well. Ill leave roms and porting to those that are better at it than me.
 
Sorry to hear about that man, however your work on this phone so far has been incredible. Thank you for trying with froyo, it means alot to all us users.

Thanks for the efforts and good luck in any future improvements you work on for the Ally. Your improvements so far are greatly appreciated.
 
Impressive! I'm really amazed at how far you've taken this phone, and it appears you're headed in the direction of taking another huge step. Good stuff!
 
hey, if you need, i have an ally with a good esn that im not using at the moment..(switched to my droid 1) if you need to confirm that anything would work on more then say your device(like the radio) i can help. and no worries of bricking it.

just trying to help out more in the community.

edit.. i wont send it to you though(sorry)..i am wanting to use it in the next few months for my old lady but i have to get some $$ first:mad: lol but yea if you could use my help PM me.
 
Awesome work! I have ten times more faith in the user community than I go in LG/Vz ever getting us Froyo. Wishing the best of luck in getting it figured out!
