Don't know who here has seen this as its for the Motorola Droid....but if things stay this way...... looks like Big Red is going to take away that function.

Thing with this is...there is no thethering for the Motorola droid, Devour, or HTC Eris thru VZW. The issue with moto is that there are no official drivers yet. Eris, idk.
The Incredible is the only droid that can tether. It is listed on the
www.vzam.net page, and it def works via usb. I havent checked if the device bluetooth is enabled for DUN, but if it is, you can use vzaccess with BT. This brings your total monthly bill for data, phone and tethering to $59.99.
As far as wifi hotspot, with the MiFi and the palm devices, I wouldnt be surprised if they allow it on the incredible. As long as the interface on the device is secure to not impede the network, I think it would be included. Would certainly bring value to the phone.
To be quite honest, in tech support you really had to look until reciently that the inc had tethering capabilities. I saw it listed before launch, and inquired about it. They kinda snuck it in on us. Havent heard any issues with it though. Just works like any other smartphone thethering.
and I dont care what you say. compared to a couple of years ago, we just had a few smartphones, and they were BORING. I think theyve loosened the leash quite abit and they have a really kickin lineup. The droid phones are probably the first time Ive been excited about a phone since the treo. I think they are giving people alot of options. (ok, plug over on that paragraph)
Trust me, there has got to be a reason the moto droids dont tether. VZW takes the ARPU seriously. Honestly, I think there are any approved drivers to tether from motorolla. HTc has all the drivers with htc sync. you can tether with htc sync.
Im gonna check out the bt tethering options with the inc this week. Just dont jump the gun and apply any announcments about the Moto Droid to the incredible.
Theres a new Droid in town. And its one Incredble peice of work.
btw. I dont think that saying only 6 people purchased the new palm devices was very nice or accurate. Very rude. Im sure that number is at least 12...13.
