Help Froyo update failed?

I just received my ally yesterday, and right when I activated, it asked me if I wanted to update. I updated, and it now shows as 2.1-update1. Any solutions?

Don't worry that is completely normal. We all received that update on our phones. It it just a maintenance update and adds a little more bloatware. You just haven't been sent the 2.2 OTA yet. All is well!

Ohh, ok, when is it estimated I will receive the firmware?

You could receive it at any time. There is really no way of predicting when you'll get it.

If you really want FroYo, you could use LG Mobile Update. Thats what I did

I got the froyo update last night. I have a rooted Ally (z4root) which is no longer available. Anyway I confirmed the install. It started the process and then the phone rebooted. No Froyo still on 2.1X.

I am running on velocity rom. Phone works very smoothly.

Any thoughts.

Nevermind. I went to the LG Updater mobile support site and did it that way NP(Froyo Installed). It did kill my superuser icon. I assume in unrooted me.

Did you follow the steps to install the update in Trident's guide? If you did then you still have root.

No i just ran the install from the LG website with their installer. So I guess I am wondering if their is a way to root it now with an x4root type program OR do i have to hook it up to the computer and do it manually.
