Since the Froyo update has officially been available, I've been tring get to get it done thru my Mac System...even using Parallels under Windows XP since I have a dual-core Pentium Mac Pro Tower.
I downloaded Kies, it ran fine and mounted the Phone. But it could never "see" the USB connection no matter what I did, so I could never update the OS.
I went to a neighborhood TMO, and they checked and said they had no official upgrade options for Mac Users. They called customer support and got the same message.
One of the reps finally got out his own laptop.....teathered the wifi connection to his Vibrant since he couldn't connect his laptop to the TMO wireless network in the store...and figured out how to cobble an upgrade on my phone with his own makeshift system.
The local rep did fine.
TMO and Samsung are ignoring an important part of their user population...and should be ashamed of themselves.
Froyo Up and Running Nicely, finally.
