Personally I use the wired and wireless tethering apps for root. However, if you're not on root, go to settings, wireless and network, tethering.
ok i just tried this...connects to my pc perfectly but when i try to use internet connection it takes me to a verizon page to sign up for a service...anyone else have this issue with the native tether?
Does the pdanet app not work for you guys?
Unroot/Unbrick using .sbf post from -ikithme- - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
That is how you downgrade to 2.0.1 in order to flash back to rooted froyo. I guarantee there will be an easier way to do this at some point, but if you don't want to wait, there you go.
Once i get back to 2.0.1 what's the easiest way to get to 2.2 rooted?
Get files from Android - whiterabbit.org
then
"copy /b signed-voles-ESE81-from-ESD56.fa406da6.zip+ESE81-root.zip update.zip"
flash update.zip
"copy /b signed-voles-FRG01B-from-ESE81.e48e48ff.zip+FRG01B-root.zip update.zip"
now flash this update.zip
done
anyone else update and its like the WORST thing ever? meaning..my phone is a dead stand still..every/any app takes 10 min to open, everything doesnt work and force closes..
WHAT THE F
I hooked up my phone and hit USB Tether. Windows 7 finds it right away, but when I tried to load a page I got dumped to a verizon wireless page telling me about the data plans for tethering or a dedicated device.
Is that a generic landing page? Or is there really a charge? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a charge, but I thought I saw someone mentioning it was included and "free". Is this just a generic landing like you get at Starbucks or Panera bread when you first load up?

First, thanks for the info on the board. Updated to 2.2 and working great. Initial reboot took under 4 minutes.ok so i didnt see definitively...no flash eh? LAME

Yeah I figured, but I was just curious as to what was happeningOnly if you are rooted....... Verizon likes you cash, remember?

I downloaded and installed FRG01B from the link provided, it installed quickly, and booted up. However, I can't get flash to show up on my market.
