Personally I use the wired and wireless tethering apps for root. However, if you're not on root, go to settings, wireless and network, tethering.

ok i just tried this...connects to my pc perfectly but when i try to use internet connection it takes me to a verizon page to sign up for a service...anyone else have this issue with the native tether?

Yea, many people have reported that before. I don't know of a fix for it. That's one of the reasons I'm running root...so I can use wired and wireless tethering without issue.

anyone else update and its like the WORST thing ever? meaning..my phone is a dead stand still..every/any app takes 10 min to open, everything doesnt work and force closes..

WHAT THE F

seriously...followed the instructions..installed without problems..and everythbing is at a standstill..i cant run any apps..or when they do, it force closes after lagging insanely. its...way jacked.

maybe its my anti-virus..i dont know..it keeps scanning and saying media is clean...(market app - antivirus)..im trying to kill it and uninstall..but haha..even trying to load the settings, or advanced task killer aint workin!

I hooked up my phone and hit USB Tether. Windows 7 finds it right away, but when I tried to load a page I got dumped to a verizon wireless page telling me about the data plans for tethering or a dedicated device.

Is that a generic landing page? Or is there really a charge? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a charge, but I thought I saw someone mentioning it was included and "free". Is this just a generic landing like you get at Starbucks or Panera bread when you first load up?

Only if you are rooted....... Verizon likes you cash, remember?

ok so i didnt see definitively...no flash eh? LAME
thats half the reason i updated!

any workaround, app or something? or we need 2.2.1 ?

Am very happy...went through the process and things are running smoothly.

Some points:

* PDANet works fine after the 2.2 update. In fact, I'm using it to post this message. :)

* There is a LONG first reboot, where you see the red eye for a good 5-10 minutes. Let it go. It will come back! It'll also be slow as it resyncs everything, but will eventually speed up. Though, even when it was syncing, it seemed faster than 2.1 was while it was syncing.

I downloaded and installed FRG01B from the link provided, it installed quickly, and booted up. However, I can't get flash to show up on my market. I have tried a dozen links online all leading back to get.adobe.com/flashplayer and I can see that it tries to route me to the market but I'm getting an error message. "! Not found... The requested item could not be found." Considering the success of apparently every other soul who has tried to do this with the rooted copies, I was wondering if anyone here was having similar trouble with this copy. Also, could anyone shed some light on my issue? Thanks

Sorry for my insanely huge post asking questions already answered. When I started writing it, no one else had asked it lol BTW the megaupload link works. Thanks!

For those of you asking about lagging problems, I experienced some initially, but after a couple reboots and running ATK its superfast.
