everything should stay unless you do a factory reset.

Alright...Downloaded, installed, updated, etc. and is working great. First impressions:

1. FAST
2. NO 3D LAUNCHER!!! DAMN YOU MOTOROLA!!!
3. USB Tethering included.
4. No more lag in the app drawer
5. 5 HOMESCREENS!!!
6. Market has update all and automatic updating features.
7. Twitter now bundled (not un-installable)

I like my Droid and hope to have it for some time so I'll just patiently await the OTA.

This is the official release from Verizon/Motorola/Google applied with the official code put on your phone by V/M/G. What's to fear?

Did you still have the 2.1 update.zip file in your root? You might have applied that instead.

Working now after giving it a few minutes to settle down, sync and do whatever background tasks it needed to do.

First impressions:
-Web browser is a bit faster at page rendering & scrollling through large desktop-formatted pages.
-Automatic brightness setting in the power panel widget is very handy
-Phone app switching seems a bit laggier than before
-I had to reinstall the Weather Channel widget for some reason
-5 homescreens rock!
-Accelerometer seems a bit sluggish
-Love those new shortcuts on the bottom for phone & browser

My app drawer was empty too for about 3 mins or so. Just sit tight and let it crank for a bit. You may have to reboot your phone once or twice. If it stops responding select "wait".
