so i tried a few custom roms.. settled for froyocream sammich. its tight. looks good.. eats battery like a fat kid.. but turning off data and wifi seem to help..

this leads me to my first issue: when i turn on my wifi it wont connect, unless i go to system settings> wifi> wifi settings> OH **** NOW IT CONNECTS. without another click..

its weird, but annoying at the worst. least it works..

the other issue i'm seeing is playing with the built in music player.. i made a playlist (yay me) but i cant seem to reorder songs, i grab, move.. and it goes back.. driving me crazy. prolly a stupid user issue.. but i'll take the fame as long as it leads to helping me resolve this.

thanx guys. y'all done real good.

First I would look to the ROM to see if the wifi connection is a known problem. I don't know if you use juice defender, but I would look into the way you use the phone to see if you could be more proactive with the battery. I would get around 12-14 hours on the stock ROM when I had it. I wouldn't use JD because when I did, it seemed to interfere with the data. Not saying it doesn't have a place (cough wifey cough), but I got better life by being smarter about my usage. I don't touch it much while at work so it works for me.

As far as the playlist thing, I haven't used one yet, couldn't help you there.
