Root Frozen Evo 4G help

Hello All, bought a Evo 4g that is rooted, today from an individual, went on sprint website to activate it and when I make a call there's a recording that says account cannot be validated. I went to a sprint store where they tried and was told they can't fix this because the phone is rooted, does anyone know of a solution or do I have to unroot the phone

what rom do you have on it? you can check in the settings/about phone/software info.

ok that is why. you are on an aosp rom. to get it setup you need to be on a sense rom. so lets flash this rom:Download 651 Rooted Odexed Signed zip. this is just a stock rooted rom that should work. the other idea is that if you do not want to be rooted we can unroot you as well. but here are the instructions on how to flash a rom:
1.download the rom and move the file to the sd card. do not put it in folder.
2.power off then press and hold power+vol down
3.select recovery
4.while you are in recovery lets make a nandroid backup. select backup and restore then backup. this will make a backup for you in case something goes wring.
5.wipe dalvik cache (depending on which recovery you have it might be under advanced), cache (partition), and data(factory reset)
6.select install zip from sd card
7.find your rom and select it by navigating to it with your vol up and down buttons and power to select the file.
8.once done you can reboot.

now you should have the stock rom and you can now either call or take it in to sprint. l
and like i said if you choose not to have your phone rooted, we can unroot you if you choose.

You can download it to the computer then plug the phone into the computer and select diskdrive on the phone The computer should see it as a mass storage or removable drive. Move the file to the phone and dont put it in a folder. After it is on the phone or Sd card just follow the instructionsfrom #2

I am on step 4 and it's asking what to back up- boot, system, data, cache, recovery, wimax, sd-ext , android secure- which ones do I backup

Then let it do its thing and when it says its complete press power to return and power again to reboot. It will take longer than normal to boot the first time .

Yeah, just put it down, leave it alone, don't worry about it, it seems like it takes forever the first time and can be quite worrisome.. Helps to sit in here and read long pointless posts like this one to sort of fill up the time...
