FYI...Modded Swype with Microphone button

The boys at XDA created a working Swype skin with microphone voice to text button. I am not sure if I can post the link but a simple search in the XDA forum should find it. Look for in the in EVO subforum. Although it was meant for the EVO it works great on the Incredible!!!

Remember to uninstall current version first.

MODS..please move to tips/tricks subforum if needed.
 
WOW nice! Works great. My swype no long stops working like it did with the official one. Speak feature work great too.
 
I still am using the beta version of Swype. Is this version newer or older than that one?
How does it work?
I love swype but the only thing it is missing is the voice to text feature of the stock keyboard...Thanks.
 
Works great. I'm sure this is not a newer version than Swypes Beta. Might be modded from the same program but its not some leaked official app if that what you mean. Personally I don't really care if its older. For me, its more stable than the beta version and I have a mic button. Perfect imo.
 
Awesome! Same exact keyboard but it also has the voice to text microphone button! No more switching back and forth between keyboards!
 
I think you are missing something. I have the enter/return button at the bottom right hand corner of my keyboard right next to the voice to text microphone button...
 
Feel free to chat about swype, but do not post any links to download it, the only way to legally use swype is to join their beta program.
 
Wow, how did I miss that? LOL!!

I guess I just looked in the message app, which has a smily button in its place.

need a little basic help, should i download the 1.60 update, then the mic zip? or just the mic zip?

and to install, do i have to go into recovery mode? or just load it from the sd card via astro?

sorry for the basic questions!

If your rooted you can install the zip from recovery.

In the Droid Inc Themes and Apps, its in there. I just installed the apk about 2/3 down page one. Voice works great. Uninstall your original swype before installing your new one. Thanks OP.

There's a newer version of the swype beta (came out in June/July I think?). If you have an older version it will eventually tell you that your swype has expired.

Just uninstall, go to the swype beta page and have them resend the invite.
