Help Galaxy GT-I9100 S II data connectivity problems

Hello everyone! I've encountered a substantial problem with my galaxy s2 and I would like your help, if possible.

This problem is related to the mobile network. Each time I try to connect to a website I get some kind of error, from 'Data connectivity problem' to 'Server failed to communicate' and even the traditional 'Web page not available'.
Note: There are a couple of websites that seem to work, such as: m.orange, m.facebook.com and m.yahoo.com.

At this point I would like to mention that Wi-Fi works as intended, with no problems whatsoever.
As for the mobile network, I believe I have the right settings resembled in the APN settings. Data connection is turned on, and I have tried both GSM and 3G. I have also tried different internet browsers, such as Opera, with the same result: only m.orange, m.facebook and m.yahoo seem to work.

It is quite frustrating at times not to have access to a mobile network. I would like to add that this problem remains to any apps that need a network connection in order to run. Therefore, I cannot run anything (Android Market, Google Maps, Youtube app, etc etc).

Thank you for your time. Please advise!

If Settings/About phone/Status shows that you're connected (network name, type, and signal strength indicated) then it does sound like an APN issue. The first thing to check is the "type" setting for the APN currently in use - it should say "internet" or "default", depending on carrier network and/or firmware version.

Thanks for the reply. Everything looks in order everywhere you mentioned: signal is stable, the network state is 'connected', and the APN type is set to 'internet'. Still no results so far.

Dumb question, but have you tried a cold restart i.e. power off fully, remove the battery for a few minutes then restart? Disable wifi beforehand to ensure that the handset connects to the mobile network immediately on rebooting.

My suggestion is to bring it back to the service provider and ask them to check the settings. It could be some issue with that. It seems strange that it works for some apps, but not for general browsing. So bring it back and ask them to check the settings and your line.

Cheers
