Galaxy Nexus Battery Life

Screen on for 1.5 is very little. Just for a comparison the I-phone 4s users were complaining about the battery draining with less than 4hrs. of screen time.

Apples to Oranges I know but I just find it interesting hearing Android users take on what is and what isn't good battery usage.

It's all over the map.

Lol iOS to Android as far as battery is concerned is more like Rhinoceros to Oranges. Though there are multiple people running the Trinity kernel and other kernels getting 3.5-4 hours of screen on. That's plenty IMO.

Humm I have that I was wondering if I should try it with the nexus ... what kinda of settings do you have on for it
The no-root-required part I have is basically when the screen turns off waiting 15 minutes, and then if the screen is still off, turning the data off. When the screen turns back on, the data turns back on. I also have slightly underclocked the processor to a max of 920000 instead of the default 1200000 (the other available ones are 350000 and 700000).

Nice my only thing about that is I stream Pandora a lot when the screen Is off so having the data off all the time is a no go for me unless you can keep it on using certain apps

I don't know why the forums limit the height of attachments to 280px, so I've rotated it sideways.

I do okay. I use a Juice Defendery kind of Tasker profile.

I bought (but then refunded) betterbatterystats because it wouldn't show me the kernel wake locks. Does it need to remain running or something to track that info? Or why might it not be showing for me?

I disabled calendar sync in my Exchange account and uncovered a glaringly obvious problem with ICS. My battery numbers have doubled, and the amount of green in the network active bar graph in battery is practically zero now. Prior to this change I would see a third to two thirds of the graph green and my battery was dead in 8 hours. Today I'm at 50% after 10 hours. So much for calendar reminders on my phone.
You're my hero. After a month of fiddling with every setting I can imagine and carting an extra battery everywhere, this did the trick!

Thanks.

I dont really know whats wrong with your guys's batteries but i was getting 15 hours. I made my background black recently and i have no idea how it could affect my battery so much because im not on the homescreen alot, but im getting 36.5 hours. Thats about the same as my friend with an undervolted GSII.

Lol not saying I doubt you, but I doubt that it had anything whatsoever to do with your background. As far as having that good of battery time, I'm guessing that's with very very little screen on time.

I was not exactly sold on his claim either. But I gave it try last night.
I set black background by uploading black image to picasa gallery. Then my nexus chewed battery roughly 1.85%/hour overnight. I was normally getting 2.5%/hour overnight before. First time I got it under 2%/hour though it's not as dramatic boost as his claim.

Were you using a live wallpaper before?

Now that they fixed the wifi radios in 4.0.4! I am getting about 30 hours on my phone with WiFi on and the customer kernel

With Trinity Kernel 512rd.

I lose 3-4% on standby per nights sleep (6-8 hours) as well. Easily the best battery life I've found.
