Help Galaxy nexus message tone help

Ive got a galaxy nexus and i was wondering if anyone knew how to set different messaging tones for different contacts. Ive looked all over and cant figure it out. Thanks in advance.

The Nexus lacks many features commonly available for other phones by default since its unskinned and clean (therefore lacking many customization features built in). What you can do is download and install a third party SMS app which has that ability, like GO SMS Pro or Handcent.

Neither the droid 2 nor the droid x has this feature, it isn't a nexus thing.

3rd party app like gosms or handcent will do this. However, you can set individual ringtones for contacts. people app> person you want to set ringtone> click on pic> top right 3 dot menu> set ringtone

Ok thanks! I knew how to do the ringtone thing but wasnt sure about the message tone. thanks for the responses
