Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Alright guys, I'm out for work.
Get to leave on the nice note that there's water leaking all over our storage in the basement and our POS prop. management just lets me know "a contractor is on the way". Ugh. We need to move out.

Yep, they have a few different packages you can get. Got one as a thank you gift to a long-time employee who was retiring earlier this year. They have some jewelry now too, charm bracelet type stuff if I recall. Don't think they have the animals any longer though, which is a shame.

That is a shame, I thought it was a great present for a new born or first birthday. Jewelry is good though -- I may have to casually tell my boyfriend about it ;)

After you install Nova, open your app drawer, hit menu, then nova settings, then set your desktop grid size to 5 x 4 and presto!!!!

Btw, I am still unrooted with a locked boot loader, so this will work for anybody.

My problem with nova was every time I went to delete the Google search bar it would magically reappear

Yea, I have nothing to really contribute to the discussion on the Nexus, other than I still love the phone, haven't had issues yet, and am getting more than enough battery life out of it (with or without 4G). So instead, I present you with this.

EDIT: Why won't it embed the video? I thought all you needed to do was post the URL.

EDIT: Nvm, I got it (obviously). Needed to change the link apparently.

Well, Netflix HD isn't working with the Gummy Nex. Now that I've tried the system version of Nova, I think I'll go back to Universal HD with the Nova launcher.

I just love the stock ICS app drawer too much to go with Launcher Pro or Go Launcher Ex, and I also want Netflix HD functionality.

I suppose I can't have my cake and eat it too.

Has anyone tried the Netflix HD stuff on a TV through MHL? Does it play true full screen there even though it leaves the soft buttons otherwise?

I'm kind of confused about the native YouTube app. Does it run in 720p when HQ is enabled? It looks too good to be 480p.

I have ZERO clue, but 480p at the correct bitrate on such a small screen could be VERY tough to decipher from 720p. In a still shot you might be able to see the diff, with most of the image changing would be tough.

If you are comparing HQ over 3g to 4g I would guess the change is mostly just bitrate differences.

Back at work.. Spent the morning in bed. The fever's definitely down, as is the energy level. Weird. It was weird.

Is there anyway we can rename our nandroid backups? I don't like guessing which one I need to restore.

I haven't gotten around to getting an MHL cable yet.

Glad to see you're still in the land of the living!

What is it exactly that you like about it? I am using ADW Launcher EX and the app drawer is great!

Phandroid was able to isolate the APK, and there's a download link in the story about it. Works great!

Stream All Your Media From Your Computer To Your Device With Zumocast [Download] | Phandroid

Razor, thanks for posting this. Ok, showing my very noobiness on this. When I click the "download the file" link in the article, it brings up the multiupload.com site, with several "download" buttons. Pushing any of those brings up a link to download a download manager. I just want the file without having any third party programs to get it. How do I do that? Or, do I HAVE to download something like iLivid Manager to get the file? I keep running in to that issue.

I'm from the old school, where you click "download" and you get a window that asks run/save, etc etc.

Edit: I think, looking at it closer, that if you just pick the "direct download", that'll work? I'm guessing the others seem like they are for specific download managers. (?)

If you backup through Rom Manager (which is just a UI on CWR from what I'm told) they prompt you to name the backup first, then it auto re-boots into CWR and does its business. Then when you want to restore (again, I do it through Rom Manager, but I'm sure the name is also in the CWR restore menu) the name you put it as should be there! I have been using Rom Manager since I got my X last July and love it. So much easier to use.

EDIT: NINJA'D...Steven, go back to bed :-)

That's cool. I am mostly curious as I haven't gotten the MHL either. I almost prefer the standard Netflix just cause it goes full screen, but might use the HD to watch stuff on my TV's at home if it went full screen as I only have an XBox that can actually stream Netflix HD since the studios won't allow Netflix to push HD through the PC web based silverlight stuffs. Same goes for Amazon and about any other online video feeds with actual movies and such on a home media center PC. It's really annoying after investing a good bit in good HTPC equipment that was HD capable before it became obvious online HD content too a PC would be a no-no. I would just get a Roku or something, but seems silly to spend $50-100 bucks on some silly little device so much less powerful than the computers I built to run my TVs a few years ago.

Through rom manager yup. I, along with many others, have had major issues renaming a backup any other way. Ymmv. What I like to do is to create a notepad file and drop it in my clockworkmod folder. I edit that notepad file each time I create a new backup. Pretty simple it only takes a minute.

This message brought to you through voice to text on my galaxy nexus . :)
