Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

My two lenses for my new camera system should be here Saturday and the camera should arrive next week at some point, maybe. Pretty excited about getting to try it out.

On another exciting note, our twins should arrive in the next week as well. Doctor said yesterday it could happen at any point now and he didn't expect it to be over a week. Not sure I can contain all of my excitement with the lenses, camera, and my first children arriving :D If Kit-Kat was scheduled to arrive on my Moto X this week too I don't know what I'd do with myself, lol

Indeed pup :) I joked with my wife a little the other day and told her I wasn't sure what I was more excited about, the camera or the twins, lol. She was not amused :p

I would make sure you have a good time killer on the Moto X for the late night feedings.;)

Congrats gEEK - that is so exciting.

My future sister in law is due sometime early next month - so excited for her.

So if I order now, when it comes back in stock do I get it at the $199 or would I get it at whatever price it is then. Also, if it is a different price do I have a chance to cancel before they charge it?

There is no option to order now.

I was able to, but that doesn't mean I'll get it.

I received an email saying they are preparing it for shipment but there is no delivery date.

Fingers crossed..

Congrats in advance! Babies and toys all in the same week is definitely a good thing.

Has anyone tried Chrome Cast?

I was so excited to get it when it first came out, but couldn't get it because it was always sold out. Now I see piles of them at Best Buy, but when I ask about it, they tell me it's only for online streaming like Netflix and Hulu.

Can anyone confirm that you cannot stream local files from your computer to a TV using this?

G'luck gEEk:D Stay cool, don't faint at critical moments, enjoy this life period and use the new lenses well. You'll have a couple of great subjects to take pics of with those.
Notice...: he's getting two kids in one order, and still talking about ' my first children'.

I love my Chromecast.

Apps available to cast from your phone or tablet, iOS or Android - Netflix, Hulu+, Play Movies, Play Music (ok those two are Android I guess), YouTube and as of about a week ago, Pandora.

Netflix video quality surpasses that built-in to a Samsung D series Smart TV.

You can cast content from a PC (Mac or Windows) using the Chrome browser (tab casting).

Mileage varies on that. I'm below the hardware requirements with my Mac and have no issues for my use, others are above it with Windows and have some trouble - it's a beta feature.

Not every media type is supported by the Chromecast natively, and many use Plex with a plug in to cast local media.

There was an app to cast any media on your Android device, AllCast, but it's been pulled because the SDK is in beta, other apps expected to appear when it's final.

That move and slow app releases have a lot of the natives restless.

Not me, I'm digging it.

Just ordered a free extended battery for the Gnex. Why? Because it was free. :)

Sprint is giving them away.

Chromecast lover here also!

^^ Thirded, love my Chromecast. I just need a network extender or some access points so I can get better/stronger wifi coverage in my house. I use it all the time. I hate using my built-in "smart TV" apps now that I have Chromecast.

EDIT: And what's awesome about Chromecast is development is just really getting started. The posibilities are pretty exciting.

Thanks to all of you :) I'll get pictures up when they arrive. Of the kids that is...not the camera equipment, lol.
