Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

So I found out I went to an authorized reseller this morning instead of the actual corporate store. He didn't mess any of my plans up and gave me a $30 discount so I guess in the end not a bad thing.

Didn't realize the corporate store was upstairs from the kiosk though. Woops.

Picking up my Nexus after work only 2 more hours! Question for all of you since I am still on the OG Droid and haven't had to backup or install anything on a new phone in ages.

Are there any free or trial versions of a good backup tool I can get from the Android Market?

Is there any way to backup text messages? Call logs aren't necessary but id really like to be able to backup my texts and port them over to the nexus once I get it.

Thanks for the responses! Hope everyone is loving the Nexus!

I think I used SMS Backup +. Sends them to your gmail account in a hidden folder. I tried using the GoSMS backup file, but it didn't work, thankfully this one did.

t-minus 1 hour and 45 minutes and I leave work to get my nexus......this has been the longest day ever.

Agreed! Did we enter some sort of time space continuum where time moves at a snails pace to allow those that got their Nexus already time to enjoy getting to know them all the while dragging out the agony of work for the rest of us?

This was my reaction when the VZW rep handed my phone over to me:

I need to stop reading reviews as my opinion (as compared to the X2) is that this phone is absolutely fantastic. Pictures are better; speaker is better; response times are better. About the only thing that will take getting used to is the new location of buttons and the incredibly light weight. It's like those restaurant glasses that are made of plastic but look like solid glass...
