Did anyone else jump on the 2100 MAh extended battery? I swear it adds NO thickness to the phone... awesome

Yes, but haven't tried it yet. I fully charged my standard battery and am waiting to see what it's like. If it's good, I'll just return the extended and get that money back.

Does anyone know how to take "HD" pictures so that I can add them as my contact photos? The photos I have now are, I guess, low-res and they look like crap when you click on the contact.

I've found myself with no need to push F5 all day long. I'm having withdrawal. I push F5 and nothing changes. I push it again, and nothing changes. I come back five minutes later and one person has posted something. . . I'm having withdrawal.

For $30, I was going to get the extended, but I think I want to wait a week to get a real world (read "forum") comparison between the 2. How much time does the extra 250 MAh actually provide?

I was just going to post pretty much the same thing. I kinda already miss the hectic pace we were setting on the Pre-Release Thread.

At least I won't be destroying my F5 key anytime soon. :D

If Han's farewell was a blank, that is the most hysterical post of the entire thread.

I've had problems with the AF app FC'ng , plus the AF servers have been wonky. So just tell me if it really was blank.:)

His first try was blank. Then it showed up. I've had to see the mega thread from a browser since 2 days ago. The app kept force closing when I was in it. All other threads seem to be ok though

Even the server got verklempt'd over the thread coming to an end and Verizon finally releasing the Gnex.

Is it wrong that I feel like a dirty, whorish, unfaithful tramp as I sit here typing this message......... on my new Galaxy Nexus??? :o :o :o

Ahhh, yes, WILLPOWER - as a matter of fact, I HAVE heard of it, but I don't think I know what it is............:p

Yup it was doing the force close on me too! That was very annoying after my laptop was mad at me for being left on too long yesterday.

Ok well I think I have my new phone pretty well set up for now :) Time to do homework with the pups (I'll do some photo comparisons tomorrow!)

Well, I am enjoying my GNex for the most part, although I do have a couple of things that I do not like and that is with the contacts part of the system. I'll list those issues here in case someone knows a solution.

First, the phone adds my Google+ contacts to my Phone contacts list. This would not be a problem if the only people I view in Google+ were people that I call, but some of the people I follow in Google+ are just people that are worth following, but I don't want to have to go through them when looking for a phone number. I looked and I did not find a setting that would let me say only sync a Google+ contact into phone contacts if they are in my phone list. I do however want the Google + app to sync on its own.

The second issue I have with contacts is there are some contacts that I do not want to actually show up and I was able to do this on the old version of Android. Here are two examples of how this is useful. I had a someone who kept calling my personal phone number for a work related issue (employees gave out my number when they shouldn't have) and no matter how many times I told them to use the business line they kept calling me, so I created a group in Google Voice called Block and whenever their numbers called me they got a message referring them to the business phone. I did not want to see these numbers in my contact list so I prevented them from appearing on the phone. The other thing I found useful is I signed up for text updates from some businesses and in order to be able to quickly identify who these texts were coming from I created a contact for them with their name and a picture placed that contact in a text message group and hid the group. By doing this when I got a text message from them instead of having the message say it came from some odd number it says it came from who they are with an identifying picture without cluttering up my phone directory with useless information.
I could do this before but can't seem to do so now.

My other issues have not to do with this wonderful phone but with Verizon.
This morning my store rep was unable to apply my 3G to 4G $100 discount and said that a CSR could credit my account, now the CSR is saying that they think the store rep should have done it and they can't fix it on their end so now the CSR is going to get hold of the store Rep and the helpful CSR that said I was eligible and try to fix it. To top it off no one ever said that I would have to pay a $20 early upgrade fee. The website said I had discounted pricing available and that I would get a bigger discount if I waited till 1/6 but nowhere did it say or the sales rep say early upgrade fee. I found out when I looked at the receipt after I left the store. So the CSR is checking into getting that credited back as well (only because it wasn't mentioned, she would not do it because it is only less than 3 weeks).
Ahh the fun of dealing with Verizon, it sure makes me hope that they do not succeed in their bid to buy Netflix.

I'm still getting used to this no buttons thing. I find myself taking my phone out of my pocket and pressing the bottom of the phone or looking around for a home button before remembering the unlock button is on the right side.
