Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

The pictures from the Nexus are just fine -- not sure why there are so many complaints. One of my resolutions for this year is to drink less soda.

OK, here's a quick and simple test between Galaxy Nexus' stock camera and HDR Camera + App. actually the stock camera is not doing a bad job. The HDR of course is creating a more evenly lit scene and is popping up the colors and contrast a bit. Stock takes the pic in an instant, HDR will take a moment or two, not too long of lag.

I find myself taking ALL pictures in the stock app and then modifiying them in other apps (Vignette, Camera Zoom FX, etc).

Can you do this in HDR Camera or it needs to take multiple exposures the first time?
 
first off, it takes multiple exposures. then it allows some adjustment. this image below is from their app page. for example there are 3 settings, low/normal/high in various options (such as vividness and contrast). also you can set the processing speed. I have it on fastest. there is another option for "Auto Adjustments (automatically go to adjustments after taking a photo)" which I have not selected. I am pretty good in Photoshop but do not want to post process my cell phone images. so, I'll either use the stock camera or the HDR depending on need. Next test would be stock/HDR night shot...

Not sure if this was answered yet? I never played the other games and as far as I can tell I'm having no problem playing Skyrim.
 
I've been leaving the wi-fi ON on my phone for the past week or so and despite only connecting to home and office networks, battery life has been fantastic. I usually have at least 40% battery remaining when I get home from work around 7PM after having the phone off the charger for 12+ hours.

Today I turned off all wi-fi and used 4G/3G only. Battery life dipped below 30% by 2 PM and for the first time "Android OS" is the top consumer of power on my phone (usually it is the screen).

Moral of the story: use wireless where trusted, especially in the places you spend a lot of time (work/home). Turn the wi-fi setting on and forget about it for much better battery life. A 4G/wifi solution works fine by me, and espite having unlimited data, I'm OK with leaning on wifi networks for the added time between charging.

I don't think you actually need to connect to a WiFi network, just leave it on.

FWIW I leave my WiFi & GPS on 100% of the time and still get 2 days on the phone between charges. I think I may try seeing what bluetooth does next :-)

I got out of work early today because a case got continued.

Been playing Skyrim for the last two hours and I am HOOKED!!! Playing it on my new laptop at high settings, and thank goodness it's smooth as butter.

But this game is awesome! Such detail, so many things to do! And the story is pretty good, too.

My Gnex and modding has actually been pushed to the side for the time being.

My dream is for them to bring in Polian since he's out at Indy. Don't know who will be available for the OC position.

I'm actually happy they're keeping Lovie onboard. He's done a lot with such little talent.

I just can't believe Norv Turner didn't get fired in SD.

I have many hours invested in this game and I've barely touched the main story. For my character I normally carry a mace in my right hand and do magic with my left.

glad hdr is working well for you...it definitely made a world of difference. Haven't figured out how to use zoom and take video with it though. I disabled stock cam since its a potential battery leak. The other cam I have is zoom fx...don't remember if I can take video with that one either
 
Hey all!
Got socked at worked due to the holidays. Majorly busy and as a result have not been at the main PC in about a week!

I still have my nexus, it still puts a smile on my face the camera is good, the software that runs the camera, however, needs work, IMHO. HDR+ is proof the camera in the phone is good.

Speaking of photos, thanks for the comments about the pic I posted a few days back. Most people liked the darker version, and I can see that. The HDR version looked great, but the scene did not call for it :)

Anywho I thought I would just check in :)

I purchased Vignette awhile ago and it has yet to work. I emailed the developer and I received a scripted response about looking into it.
 
Just a quick question with the computer talk around here...

given the choice between a 13" base model macbook pro or a dell xps 15z, which would you get?:o

The dell has bloatware on it :rolleyes:
 
no video with HDR, because of it's multi-pic taking software. And you can't zoom either with it.
