Look at the bezel size.

You can build a ranch home or a split level, iow, the real estate for the internals is not going to vary by a lot. ;)

The RAZRs are top phones, too, gotta give credit where due.
 
So - honest question, now that you cats have made the transition, and I lack experience.

What is the appeal of thin?

You know me, not trolling, not a loaded question, no pithy comebacks waiting in the wings.

Honestly curious because I don't know how to relate to that metric as a feature.

I don't understand the draw of the thin phone either. I have the extended battery in Nyxie just so she has a little bit to hold onto. My other batteries are for emergency use when I am not near a power source

I just wanted an unlocked bootloader and that big beautiful screen:). Thin doesn't matter much to me, actually I felt afraid of dropping my GNex when I first got it. I feels much better with the case on it (10% - 15% thicker) with a good textured feel (the cheap one from VZW with the built in kick stand and holster clip). I was concerned about the size as I have small hands for someone 6'2", but after a few days I picked up my old D1 that my 4yr old uses and it felt tiny:).

If I were to choose between the DRazr and DRazr Maxx I would take the maxx (for all but that whole bootloader thing;)) for the heft alone.

For me, its all about easy edc. I've tried the holster thing when I had the Bionic w/ extended battery and I just don't like it. I often wear cargo pants but I don't like the feeling of a phone flopping around down in the cargo pocket so my placement of choice is the front pocket of my pants.
 
I just watched Episode 5 - I loved it!!!!! Tried to go for episode 6 but the VCR apparently doesn't want to work anymore

Ep. 5 has always been my favorite. :D

if i had to rate them all, it would be 5, 6, 3, 4, 2, 1. good luck with that VCR, while they may look better on blu-ray, cassettes are the only way to watch IV, V, and VI. :cool:

I agree with you. I like the way the Nexus with the extended battery feels in my hand. To be honest, I also liked the feel of the Rezound, so thin vs thick is not an issue. On the other hand, I didn't care for the feel of the Razr.

IMO phones are like women. There is such a thing as too thin. You want something to hold on to. :)

Well, I came from the tank of an OG Droid. It's weight started to get a little bearing and I knew I didn't need a physical keyboard for my next phone. When I got the Bionic I was surprised how much lighter it was than the Droid while not being terribly thinner. I still think the Bionic has a great feel in the hand, much better than the Razr. That thing is just TOO damn thin (though I haven't handled the Maxx, it may be much better) and wide. I'm guessing the 3VO is similar to the Rezound? I thought the Rezound felt nice with no complaints on thickness/heaviness.
However, if you're looking for thin, have you checked this puppy out?

For me, I am kind of torn on the thin aspect of the phone. It is massively thinner than my previous phone/case (TB with Seidio Active case) especially since I am going caseless. But it is also very slippery. I am actually glad I put my Invisibleshield on it, the slight tackiness of the SP really makes me feel like my grip is more secure. Picking it up off of a table will never feel right, its so thin that you are basically picking it up with your finger tips, I feel this is the biggest danger zone for drops. At work I actually set my phone on a pack of post-it notes on my desk so I can grab it by the pads of my fingers instead of the tips. But there is no denying that once its positioned in my hand for use, the thinness is fantastic, it feels so good in the hand. I think this should be the most important feature, rather than a thinner is better mantra. I think the RAZR MAXX has the right idea, now that we can get the hardware so thin, its time to start compensating by bumping up the battery sizes. I think 9-10mm thick is right around the sweet spot for comfortable feel. Hopefully the manufacturers start to do this.

I actually prefer the feel of my wife's Rezound over the Nexus. Feels more sturdy and I don't feel as if I'm going to drop it. She added a TPU case to it and it still feels great. That's the reason she ended up with a Rezound. She didn't like the feel of the Nexus.

Agreed 100% The Razr felt very awkward in my hands and I love the feel of the Nexus with the extended battery.

Even if thin as an absolute were a virtue, at some point "the cutting edge" of thinness becomes a little too literal for everyone's comfort ;)
