Hey, folks! Been busy and long time no check in. Hope everyone is well!

I finally have an issue with my phone that I hope the collective can help with. I searched but I dont know what it is called so I got no relevant results.

My phone very kindly reads me my texts. Through bluetooth most of the time. Through the speaker the rest. I really like this when I am driving or my hands are busy. I dont particularly like it when it reads my texts to me while I am on a call. I dont even remember if reading the texts is by default or if I made it happen some way. It would seem to me that the text speech should mute while on a call, but it doesnt.

So, what did I do to turn this on? How do I turn it off? Best would be if it muted while I am on a call.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello all! Well to the one way audio clan: it happened again today and not in my home market. This time I was in Asheville, seems the tower idea is not holding true for me however they are are all new LTE markets. I am holding out on changing for number three handset until we get an official OTA (I am already running unofficial 4.04) as they say it will be fixed and I really love this phone. ;)

Oh crud! Sorry it happened again. I hope you get it straightened out soon.

I went to bed early. I knew I would have some winter cleanup this morning. I got up at 4:00 to get the driveway de-iced.

Ugh, bowling was a blast. I will not release my embarassingly low score. However, (and I knew this was going to be a problem), I tried to find someone who would give me a ride home just after midnight and everyone was staying for a while longer. After a few beers, I basically just said f it and started walking trying to find a cab. I walked probably a mile before I got one (being WAY upper northwest DC at midnight trying to get a cab is tough). Needless to say it was a long haul.
Also, my mom hit me with the news that my nephew (just over two months old) had to have heart surgery today. She said things went well and he'll get better but, again, it just hits home on how precious life is. My sister went through a lot with her first son and now is having to do it again.
Sorry for the sad story in the morning. I certainly wish all the Nexicans a great TGIF!

Hey, well at least you got to spend some time in Asheville! We love that city and got married there (okay, technically it was Weaverville). If I would ever move back to NC, it would definitely be there. :)

Good luck with your nephew. I think it is harder on us the younger they are.:(

As someone who has no kids, it still is a blow. I'll be sure to call her soon to convey my thoughts. She's gone through a lot with both kids and life.
My mom called first to let me know she may not make the visit. I told her she's ridiculous to not spend as much time with my sister.

Asheville is a great place! If it has been a while since you have been to Weaverville, you might be surprised, it actually has a super Walmart and a Lowes now. Love to go to Stony Knob Cafe there, mmmm. We spend summers near Mt. Mitchell, the cool mountain air beats the summer heat of the coast in a heartbeat.

Prayers for your nephew and sister!

Oh, we got married this past June, so it hasn't been too long!
I hiked Mt. Mitchell several years back with my day. It was beautiful but I always longed for above treeline spots like we hiked in NH (presidential range).
It's amazing how a few extra thousand feet in elevation changes the weather. :)

Glad you had fun bowling! Sorry to hear about your nephew but its wonderful that it sounds like he'll be ok.

Happy Friday !!!

Updated TOR:CON index. Most activity said to take place between Noon and 7PM. Stay safe for all those in these areas! I'm in North AL so it looks like our risk is a littler less than those of you a tad north of me, such as Chief. As you said, batten down the hatches! Looks like a rough afternoon in store. Just hope it doesn't get as bad there as it did around here on April 27th last year. :(

AL north - 6
TN north-central – 8
KY central – 8

Absolutely, Mt Mitchell is the highest point east of the Mississippi, at 6684 feet, it averages summer temps in the upper 60's and the ecosytem is more like that of Southeastern Canada than Southeastern US. If you hike the ridge line across the peaks of the Blacks, you do get some great vistas, but you are right, you are always in the trees!

All you guys in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Mississippi keep an eye out. They keep increasing the TOR:CON ratings. We are now near or at ratings on the day of the major outbreak last year.

Good morning all - some good & bad news this morning, hope everything turns out okay.

Stay safe to all with high TOR:CON ratings.
