Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

For some reason my battery life has doubled since first getting the phone on Thursdsay morning. I am at 14 hours and 38%. From Thursday into Friday my battery was dead in about 6-7 hours :):)

I hope I get a similar situation. I drained my battery down to like 2% and popped it onto the charger. Just slipped in a fresh battery and I will do the same to this one.

Then we'll see what's what!

Nope, no cassette player. Just cd.

Well stop making it so damn difficult.:p

I've used the fm transmitters in the past, but I always found the audio to be poor especially in non-rural areas where there are a lot of "real" radio stations fighting for the same frequency. The best option be may be an inexpensive after market deck. You could try out the fm transmitters, but they don't work very well IMO.

Yeah, I've tried those in the past. A friend in Durango, CO swore by it. He lives out in the sticks, though. It sucked in downtown Chicago.

could someone/anyone do me a favor and download from market the "verizon wifi auto turn on" from the market and see if it will work for you. it tells me its only for vzw subscribers LMAO, and just wondering if its a me issue or a ICS issue

edit: incase you are unfamiliar, its a vzw app that simply turns wifi on/off based on location

Check out Y5 Battery Saver in the market.

I was using Launcher Pro Plus on my OG Droid with its awesome calendar widget.

Unless I'm being an idiot and can't figure it out, the stock calendar widget with ICS is rather lame. I'd like to see far more than just the current day.

I'm now using Pure Calendar Widget on my Gnex, but it's fairly ugly and lacks the functionality of the Launcher Pro one.

So... does anyone have any suggestions for a functional and attractive calendar widget?

I am trying to set up SDK so I can unlock but I am stuck. The directions say to replace a driver with the Cyanogen one inside the android-sdk-windows\extras\google\usb_driver\ folder replacing the "stock" android_winusb.inf. I looked everywhere for this folder and it is nowhere to be found. Great start for me trying to unlock...

I don't have the "extras" folder they are talking about...The instructions I am using are here...

i got stuck even before that haha. i downloaded the sdk, unzipped to c:/ drive, and when i click on sdk manager to set it up, it opens a prompt window and closes immediately, so thats as far as i am for now

Yeah these instructions are a bit outdated it seems. After it opens it tells you what to install but the revisions that are in the instructions are older revisions and everything is just a little off making it that more frustrating.

So I was unable to get a video chat initiated with gtalk cos my wife's stratosphere is running 2.3.4 and not 2.3.5! I have tried to root her phone but support is limited on here device and my computer needs to be backed up and wiped with a fresh install of windows/Ubuntu. We can use Tango but I want use Google based products.

On a NEXUS Note...I am loving this phone. I can live with the speaker volume though I would prefer it louder. I am seeing poor battery life like most here but it has only been two days so I wanna give it some more time. Might get the extended battery anyway. Seems the screen takes up the majority of battery life. I am running today on auto brightness with a sleep time of one minute. I will report back on this.

As I am typing (right now) in landscape I am noticing significant lag. Weird that it just started happening.

Lastly I am also noticing lag when switching from portrait to landscape.

Still love this phone. Thinking 4.0.3 will fix some of this and since that will be the new base for ICS I will root and unlock then.

Thanks Nexicans!

Just left Radio Shack. Needed a power jack splitter, but that's not what this is about. The sales guy was showing a RAZR to a customer spewing out the most amazing line of anal leakage.

A quick rundown of the "features":
The back costs more than the rest of the phone.
The battery is replaceable (he saw it on the internet)
The back is bullet proof
The glass is bullet proof
It's basically indestructible unless you snap it in half...
"...but I like my Thunderbolt better"
And They make you pay more for 4G than 3G

I kid you not. I nearly strangled myself trying to keep quiet and not bust out laughing.

When I showed my friend my Han Solo (Han gave me permission to name my Nexus after him) he said, "It's no RAZR!" I replied with, "You're right about that!"

Skip that step, don't worry about the Cyanogen mod phone drivers

This is the driver you'll use
[ADB/FB Driver] Naked Samsung Driver 1.7 - xda-developers

Edit: by "that step" I mean step 11

I got the "extras" folder to show up, do I still need to put in and replace an android_winusb file that the instructions say? or just install the naked driver? Because right now I am just trying to get devices to show up in the command prompt.

EDIT: I see the naked driver isn't an installation...Where do I put this thing? haha

If you GNex has already been installed. Go to device manager (Control Panel -> Device Manager), and uninstall the one that says something like "Samsung ADB"

Then replug in your device and when it asks to install, (Select Manually find folder) point it to the folder where you unzipped the above driver download. It shouldn't matter where you extract it. I did it under the android sdk folder in a new folder call GNex Drivers

ok, so the speaker level wass frustrating me a little bit and went ahead and got volume+, for $1 i figured it was worth a shot. i know there was some debate over whether it really worked or not, but for me, it works like a charm! best "mod" yet haha, i just put it on +4 to keep it safe for now, but definitely a solution for those who arent happy with the speaker volume
