Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

So with the new Google Wallet out, we won't get it because we had to sideload on our phone, correct? Is there a way to update our Google Wallet? I haven't updated it since the first week of release.

I would recommend the same chief...go without the JD...and use the settings in ROM control. The only problem I have had since I got rid of JD...is when I tried to copy someone else's settings. Since each physical phone handles differently...I ended up finding a great match for my phone with LeanKernal exp versions. I also set my governor to 1650/350 and interactivex....but I honestly leave everything else stock on AOKP. I usually end the day with about 30% battery left after gaming and regular use including navigation, after about 16hrs a day....
Disclaimer: I am in a good 4g area, always leave wifi on, but turn GPS off unless I need it.

This makes me nervous. I went to enable Powersaver options in AOKP and it threw up a downright SCARY warning about it being experimental on CDMA/LTE devices and possibly unstable, causing infinite loops, etc. I opted to back out.

I have been having the same problem. the last three times I have had to manually go to the play store, go to all, then the wallet app, before I was able to update. updates aren't pushed to the phone anymore.

Me too, just checked. Had to update as stated above and the app asked permission to access gmail.

I'm like you Chief. Those warnings keep me from trying the Powersaver options.

Haven't tried it either. But, Chief, don't you use Juice Defender? I believe Power Saver shuts off data connections with screen off so it would just be redundant. And, in fact, if they're both fighting over turning off data, that may be where the trouble starts.

Morning everyone! Happy Friday to all. :)

Sorry Chief should have been more specific....I do NOT use the power saver functions in AOKP. I found out near the beginning of me using AOKP that I did not need JD either...as long as I had the kernal set properly, I end up not turning off data, or modifying the settings like I did with JD. I just did not need them any more. I found that I am getting so much more battery time and usage, with AOKP and Leankernal experimentals that I don't have to turn off data. But I am in a decent 4g area and at home on wifi....

I am at 19 hours plus up time right now and still have more than 20% battery left.

Ryan, the pic link is broken btw.
You bring up a good point. Perhaps while I'm at work I'll just turn off data and simply allow calls and texts to come through. I don't use my phone for email or any other data heavy task so it shouldn't be any issue. It may have to be a complicated profile in Tasker (or JD can do this?), but I can give it a shot.

Thanks Dread...for some reason my links are not working any more. And let us know how it works out if you try it. Tasker or if you have access to tags might help with that too...but like I said...for me I have decent 4g all day at work, so different connections for everyone, I understand using JD. But JD seems to not always interact well with AOKP....and personally did not end up needing it.

SO let me get this straight, Ryan: I turn off JD and forget it? Other than PowerSaver options, I don't know where to go to "set up" a kernel. I'm using the kernel that came with AOKP. I DID turn off JD so we'll see how that works...

Good morning all! It's a sunny and not-so-humid morning so far. The car is packed, the timers are set, and I'm counting the minutes until I can scoot outta here and be on my way to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. As long as nothing serious breaks, I should hit the road around 11:00-ish. :D

PM sent...

Inside of AOKP, ROM Control, and at the bottom of the menu, go to the Performance Tab, this is where you can start to set the individual settings for your Kernal: governor, MAX/MIN CPU, voltages, etc.

TGIF to everyone!!!

BB and others (wedding update):
Getting our engagement pictures taken tomorrow. Meeting with the caterer tonight....Getting all of our stuff set up for the wedding!!!

Morning all!

For those who are afraid to try Power Saver on AOKP due to the warnings, I've run it since sometime around build 28 and had no problems other than the slight annoyance of having to manually turn mobile data back on ocassionally. It just turns mobile data, or wifi, or both off after a specified time with the screen off. I found it helped greatly at work due to poor service here. However, we now have a mobile wifi network here so I no longer use it.

So I guess this means no more suffering through slow 3G for you huh? Lucky. Although be careful, I believe they can track your usage through that :p

Yeah they can. It still goes through the filter as well, so I can't do much on their wifi. I don't use my phone that much anyway. When I do need to do something on it I turn wifi off and do what I need to do then turn it back on. I get good enough signal to do small things but it's apparent that it searches a lot through the day to hold that signal. The wifi just keeps the battery from running due to the signal searching.

Cool yeah, I have a charger at my desk, so I don't worry about battery. I would rather avoid big brother monitoring my data usage :p

Those "annoyances" are why I stopped using JD. I get good life on mine now with Lean Kernel
