Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I order an extra extended battery on 12/16 and I guess I should be getting it soon. The reason I said guess, is because there is no way for me to check on my order via VZWs web site for some odd reason. The page has been down for a few days now.

PS; What is an iPhone, I see peeps mention it in there post once in awhile?;)

Vandy,
I had the same problem. I dialed 611 with order number in hand and they provided me with the tracking number. I ordered on 12/15, shipped on 12/16, on truck for delivery today.

Good luck!!!

Just to let you guys know there's a post on Reddit that disabling google's location service and location and Google search in the GPS settings helps to fix the Android OS CPU problem.

Potential Solution to Galaxy Nexus Battery Issue. (/hope) : Android

I'm trying it out now, only been testing for half an hour, but I think it's working.

I just turned it all off. Phone is charging now. I let it die completely and when it was plugged in and charging I turned it back on and the battery widget read 45......why?

Not a dentist.. but I can shed some light on the issue. There is a vein/artery that runs through your jaw that also circulates blood through your brain. Bad teeth can lead to infections which, if not caught in time or if they get in that vein/artery are bad juju. Basically it goes straight to the brain and game over.. So some dentists go a bit overboard about keeping the mouth clean without ever really explaining part of the problem. Most people just think of the loss of teeth or having bad teeth, they don't know it could kill them in a worst-case scenario

I understand this and the same is true of any untreated infection really, but I wasn't really being serious anyhow. Would guess a root canal or extraction ends up the lesser of evils long before such things become a concern in most cases.

I told the dentist that if it was cheaper she could take all my teeth out and I'd get fake ones. She thought that was kinda funny.

Not sure. Maybe that's the default image it starts with? Totally a guess. Like my clock starts at 6:00 until it auto updates from the network.

What would be affected with those turned off?

Anything location based. Web search, places search, weather if you're using "follow me" type features, maps and nav. etc....

Although you can still turn them on when needed so not a biggie really.

I figured I would give it it a try. I am at 39% so I will see how it is in the next hour or two.

Did you pull the battery as suggested in the reddit post?

Well, the location thing didn't seem to work. :( still getting high Android OS, after it finally refreshed.

Dang. Well I flashed romans aokp bld 7 this morning and am giving it a thorough workout. He has built some amazing customizations into it along with some unque power saving features. It's running very well atm. Much faster and smoother than 4.0.2 and I have not found any hiccups yet.

Cool, I'm still running stock and was hoping that this would fix the problem. I've seen some screenshots showing 36 hours on battery and still at 40%.

That's all I want is for this thing not to suck down 30% of my battery while I sleep.

When should I pull the battery?

Edit: Didn't seem to fix the problem.

Just looked at this again.

He is on WiFi with screen off for 9 hours. The same test for one hour took 3% for me so with location based anything off I would probably lose a little bit less, but this is the same test I posted before and definitely wasn't the cause.

I PMed my dev friend over at XDA and his repsonse was:
Looked into that as well - that might be an additional hindrance, but I dont think the root cause.

ie - He has a ton of polling data on for location, thus hitting the data bug, thus causing issue.

Also - his tests are very innaccurate. Too many variables messing up the results. I have location on and seeing the same results he is. Pretty sure he's just issuing a command to cause the bug to fire - not root cause, if you know what I mean.

Yeah. There's probably a lot of money that could be made developing more comfortable and more quickly healing means of repairing teeth, if such things are even possible. Someday maybe! :)

You really do lose 30% while sleeping? Something is seriously wrong with your phone whether software or hardware idk.
