Oh yeah!
does a pretty good job...

What a bizarre problem my 3-1/2-year old laptop hath developed.
Sound. I get great sound on local media: music, movies... anything stored on the PC has great volume. But stream something? Anything on YouTube? No volume at all. Even turned all the way up. Nothing!
Anyone here ever heard of this, and know a way to cure it? Chief has a van to repair and can ill afford a new laptop right now![]()

Well Anti, my 3-year SquareTrade warranty expired... well, a year ago so it's over 4 years old!
Still: sounds great for a laptop. I just played a Star Ward movies I had ripped for my Nexus and it played wonderfully. But go to music.google.com? YouTube?
Silent.
Almost sounds like it's a browser issue. Have you tried in a different browser, or checked out the volume control panel?
Great minds think alike! No sooner had I posted than it dawned on me to try IE. Then YOU posted!
Now to figure out WHY Chrome is a good browser gone bad...
I do not have a flash extension. I only have Do Not Track, AVG Safe Search, and Chrome to Phone enabled.

Maybe, maybe not BB, I just got a few minutes to check in. Thanks to you and Anti for actually remembering me.![]()

Chrome's Flash is built in, it's not an "extension" in the sense that you have to install it.I do not have a flash extension. I only have Do Not Track, AVG Safe Search, and Chrome to Phone enabled.
If you're interested, the non-tracking extension that I use is called Disconnect.me, and I'm very satisfied with it.Do Not Track has caused me some wonky issues lately.
