Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I just got my replacement Nexus today. I don't know if this is good or bad, but the manufacture date is 11/19/11, which is older than the device it replaces. I will activate it here shortly and post the other vital specs.

**edit** Everything else is identical, except for the manufacturing date -

Baseband: I515.09 V.EK05 / I515.EK02
Kernel: 3.0.8-gaaa2611 android-build@apa28 #1
Build number: ICL53F
Manufacturing date: 11/19/11

As a side note, I was trying to download my music again and the phone just absolutely freaked out. It acted as if one was rapidly swiping their finger back and forth over the screen. I couldn't shut it down gracefully so I had to pull the battery. :( Wow, I hope that was just because it powered up and downloaded/installed 20+ apps at once. If not, I'm keeping my old one!

My replacement was manufactured 11/22/11, a few days before my original one. I can say my screen was better on the replacement and I did not even know the other one was "not good". Blacks were much better and contrast greater. Good luck, hopefully this one will not have any issues.:)

Hey fellow Gnexers!

Wow, what's up with all these sick people? My Darling Bride is down for the count... and I am DETERMINED not to get sick myself!

Hope all you sick folk feel better soon :)

Well, the guy from Nantucket has quite a limerick going for him... but at least he has better fortune than the guy from Rangoon :D

holy cow chief! My wife is sick too! Is it possible that I somehow transferred what you guys have to her? All those feeling sick and that are sick I hope you get better soon.

Another one joins the Gnex crew! My sister just got herself a Nexus :D Now I have some one to beam with :p

Unlocked, rooted and backing up right now for her :)

Jeez, I guess I'm lucky with this non-sickness. The only time I've left work sick is when I had bronchitis and couldn't talk. The luxuries of working in the restaurant industry.
Feel better everyone!

Welcome back Elle..and looking forward to the puppy pics.
Happy 3rd day off to some and happy almost-over-monday to others. Had family in town for the last week, wedding plans galore, family, food and drinks for a week....gotta get back to exercise soon!!!! Or just sit on the couch for the rest of the day.....
Also....best get well soon wishes for all the sick ones in here. Not fun, so get better soon!!!

I went about setting up my new Nexus today and I noticed that the screen appears to have a reddish hue. I thought I was seeing things but I put it next to my existing Nexus and sure enough, the new one looks different. Not necessarily bad, but different. I always thought the other one had a bluish hue, lol. Is there any way to adjust that, or is that simply differences in manufacturing?

I think some of the kernels now have the ability to tweak colors. Pretty sure Lean Kernel and Franco both have that ability. I would try flashing one and adjusting the color on it to see if it helps.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a quick trip the last week in March? Wife likes beach, or anywhere warm with a pool. I prefer snow, lol. I guess I'll give in and go warm.

Nothing like SoCal for options. Beach and snow all in the same day. Hit Malibu one day, then next day drive 2 hours to Big Bear to ski/board. Or Palm Springs. Palm Springs could be 80's-90's by then. If you wait to mid-April, you could catch the Coachella Festival. Or avoid it :D

A cruise.

At the top of the list :) The only problem is the nearest port is so far away we would have to fly...might as well just fly somewhere and stay at a resort if we have to do that :( Cruises used to depart from Mobile, AL which isn't too far, but I haven't seen any departing from there in March.

Have to check that out. Thanks!

Haha, yeah. Gotta take vacations when the wife isn't teaching (which means, we take vacations when college/high school kids do too...). May wait till the summer, but not sure yet.
