Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Y.......

It's either a sign of the end of the world, or that I was just FED UP with Verizon's bean-dippin' around with the OTA.......

I chose not to underestimate Verizon's sheer stupidity despite this being a supposedly "pure Google" phone, so I unlocked and rooted on day 1.

:p

Hey folks...been absent for a while here - real life has been kicking my butt, time-wise! Anyway, I woke up to the 4.04 update, tried it, but got the little android on his back with the red triangle on top of him. I'm rooted/unlocked, but still stock otherwise. Has anyone figured out what's causing this OTA from coming through? I REALLY don't have a lot of time to jack with this thing...just need it to work without constant badgering to do the update! :)

Just got back from seeing Moonrise Kingdom. I thought it was a spectacular love story. Anyone who likes Wes Anderson movies should see it! Probably my favorite.

Also, did you flash the leaked radios? I know you said you were stock, but I had the same issue and had actually forgotten that I wasn't "stock." I flashed back to the .02 radios and it worked like a charm.

NCT do you have ClockworkMod recovery installed?

That would stop it...

Chief - I hate to sound so ignorant, but how would I know for sure? I don't see it under apps, nor do I see a folder for it.

No, I didn't change the radios...still the original stock radios.

It wouldn't be in your apps or on the SD card. This is a system recovery image. You could check by powering down your Nexus, then hold down BOTH Volume+ and Volume- buttons while hitting the power button at the same time. All three simultaneously. This will put you in bootloader mode.

Use the Volume - button to select Recovery Mode and hit the Power Button. Then tell us what you see. If ClockworkMod Recovery comes up, then that's what you've got.

EDIT: Oh BTW I'm not sure about the stock recovery, but there is an option to reboot the phone normally :)

Yes, I've got CWM. Now what? :)

The state of NJ drives me nuts!! Made me fill out TONS of paperwork then still didn't actually read it. Now I have to be available tomorrow from 10 - 3 for them to call me to verify info. Info I gave them!!!!! SMH.
Oh well.

You just need to flash back to the stock recovery.

there is a file that you renamed or deleted for CWM to stick. Simply rename the file back to the original name, reboot the phone and the bootloader will flash the stock recovery back (i think). It should be in the All things Root sticky.

Well, you can do what I did:

Download the AOKP Rom build 38, and gapps, and flash those puppies :)

I LOVE THIS ROM!

I can guide you step by step to doing that. If you want to revert to the stock recovery image, someone else is going to have to chime in because I don't know how to do that one.

Ten posts to go, keep an eye on the post count for BB. That 15k is hers.

BTW NCTurner, Unforgiven was pupkact, seeing as you weren't around for a bit. I'm looking for better instructions for flashing back to the stock recovery now.

3- let's tunr it over to BB for the final few as we ar going to accidentally ninja each other to the 15k with site speed.;)
