Robin recognizes me when I wave (very cool btw) , but does not always here me when I speak. And yes, the nearest coffee shop was a ways a way, lol. I think for folks in places like San Fran, it could be very useful. Especially the parking feature. SpeakToIt is not perfect, but she seems to work pretty reasonably. The problem I have with the Nexie in general, is if she is in the dock in my car and I speak to her, she can not hear me over the noise in the car. I have to hold the bottom of the phone to my mouth and speak. I don't have this problem in a quiet environment, only in the car. Same issue hapens on speakerphone in the car. (speakerphone on the Nexie, not BlueTooth).

I haven't tried Robin in the car yet. Now if SpeakToIt could incorporate some of Robin's gesture recognition and be completely hands-off, The Chief would be a happy dog!
 
Wahoo...I finally fixed an annoying pop up notification for gmail on my desktop. I manage everything through outlook and sync that back to gmail, so I prefer to not get double notifications. Any way, I disabled notification in gmail and in chrome and the notifications continued. Finally, I went into Google talk and disabled it there as well and wallah! no more desk top gmail notifications. Just passing it along in case anyone else has the issue!
 
RIP Ann Rutherford.

She played Careen O'Hara, youngest of the O'Hara sisters in Gone With The Wind. She was 94.

Thanks for the Father's day wishes everyone. Ryan's party went great, but Evan and I both woke up this morning with nasty colds.
 
Guys/girls, don't misunderstand... I'm 40 going on 12, trust me. My wife will attest to that. :p She calls me her old man, but I'm very young at heart!

I just finished building an airplane for a friend. This is his FPV (first-person view) airplane. This is where there's a camera on the plane and we fly the plane while viewing the camera footage through goggles. We're hoping to fly "follow the leader" soon and I'll be sure to post some footage!
 
I just took a closer look at the s3 and realized the us one is crippled! The international version has a quad core CPU and Verizon is using a dual core chip. Not sure about the other carriers. Why is this? Galaxy nexus part duex:confused:

Morning everyone! Celebrating our 1 year anniversary today. :D Unfortunately we're both working so no actual celebrating. (basically the story of our lives)
We'll do something fun this weekend though. :)

Yeah, don't worry about the processor, it's not going to hold this phone back at all.
 
Hey all hope everyone's weekend was great...Thanks for all the Birthday wishes, I had a great double duty day of fame yesterday! Went to brunch with the soon to be in laws and grandparents and my kids...at Brophy Bros, a seafood restaurant at the harbor here in Santa Barbara...then took a 3 hour nap...wow!!
Then dinner was at a friends college graduation party...where they surprised me with a HUGE cupcake/cake with a candle and a song. Then home to presents with kids and the season premiere of Falling Skies...
(And in response...No, PUP/Unforgiven is not my father, although his Ryan sounds adorable and is much younger than me...)
The only other thing that happened yesterday that I did miss was that my baby brother graduated from UCSD yesterday...very proud of him. BS in Cognitive Sciences. Unfortunately travel plans were changed...but was there in(Technological) spirit...as the rest of my family kept us updated with pictures and video!

Thanks. The lady should be pleasantly surprised. We generally don't surprise eachother with any gifts (yeah, we're boring like that :rolleyes:) but I put her card in her purse to take to work, have flowers being sent to her work and got her a nice gift certificate to a spa to get a massage (which she desperately needs). Should make her day! :D
 
Good morning Nexican friends!!! Hope everyone's Father's Day was relaxing and fun. We did beefsteak for my Dad & Pop-Pop. They loved it.

I ended the day by confirming travel plans....anyone want to know where?

Ok, I am going to tell you even if you didn't care - I'm headed to Kansas in 24 days to see DSB!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!
