Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hey Evan, we're all very friendly here and if you ever ever need any advice about phones or Android devices or how to get a raise in your allowance, just ask ... The Chief :hahaha::party:

Of course, your dad is a pretty good source too :-)

Our kids NEVER got an allowance. We don't believe in it. They got a commission.

We printed out a chore chart outlining daily chores for each kid. If they did their chores, they got credit for that day and then got paid at the end of the chart (2 weeks, just like real people - teaches budgeting). If they didn't do the work? No moolah.

Works like a dream. Taught our kids that when you do your work you get paid, and when you don't you don't.

:)

Going to highjack an unhighjackable thread to say: Holy Cow! There is a ton of info when you go Green! Just did my all reading. Gotta take a break. Just need to rearrange the living room cos the baby keeps resetting the wifi router and then I can hop on for my practice.

Wanna say thanks again to you all and all others in this wonderful place for helping grow me in Android and Life.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Congrats Jmar!

I know how ya feel Jmar. But you will be amazed how quickly you pick it up. Just don't let your GNex watering hole time suffer ;)

Wish I'd known that 15 years ago. :D

I never "give" my kids anything. Somehow they "think" they earn it. Even if I have to make up a chore for them to do in order the get the ten bucks to go to a dance. Nothing wrong with making them appreciate the value of money and earning it. I grew up with nothing, I delivered newspapers at age 11 and gave my mother my profits to help pay for the mortgage. Life is unfair, harsh, and ruthless. I am far better off for learning that early than later.

Yeah, was similar for me, my "allowance" was earned, so more like a commission (I like that Pup!) nothing extracurricular was paid for by my parents, I had to earn it, either through a legitimate job, or taking on extra work around the house. While I felt it was unfair at the time, I was almost completely financially independent of my parents when I graduated high school. They paid for my car insurance, and brought me a bag of groceries to supplement once every two weeks, and that was it. Tuition, room, board, fees, books, food, and fun was all on me.

Oh yeah that reminds me... Congrats to our newest greenie :D

Thanks y'all. I think I finally got all the electronic stuff baby proofed for at least a month. It is so amazing how children learn. I remember in my Child Development classes learning this phenomena, but to live it is to know it!

Anyway, waiting for the better half to return with a tuckered baby.

Hope to squeeze in some practice and RL work in the next two hours or so...going into work at 4a PST. That is the goal. I don't clock in until 515a PST but I am of Managerial Responsibility: as in...always on the clock!

And for the record, nothing could keep me from my Watering Hole Addiction!

The SIII looks good. Gizmodo has a really good review on it. My friend who has been a devout iPhone user is probably getting it.

I can't wait too see what comes out towards the end of the year.

Well. Sat my nexus down after steaming some music. I stopped the song pressed home, so its not just paused. sat the phone down and 20min later the sucker is roasting. Put a fresh battery in not to long ago.

I just opened up all my recent apps and chucked them to see if that works. Could be a battery issue? Another junk battery?

This situation has got bummed :(

So, the long and short:
radio issues
call quality issues
heat
Battery drain. Looks like possibly two batteries (one regular one extended) have gone crap
