Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning folks! Thanks for the links Razor, as always.
Enjoyed the read about the Optimus G. Really looks like a fantastic phone, and if they take it and make it the next Nexus, I might bite. :)
Yeah, the Optimus G looks great specs-wise, though the Snapdragon S4 Pro seems like it's still including the Krait v2 CPU (same as the Galaxy S3 and HTC One X), I was hoping for the improved Krait v3. Oh well, it'll still be a total beast. Maybe by the time the Optimus G makes it here, it'll be time for a refresh. :p Here's a cool thing that LG is doing with NFC tags as well:

I will say, she is taking a very heavy interest in Android with her new phone. I Beamed with her last night, and she thought that was awesome.

P.S. I am trying to get her to sign on here... she's softening a little bit, but no go yet.
Nice, that's awesome. I wish my girl would take an interest in Android, but she's an iSheep through and through.
Thinking about watching that 2016 documentary too.
Enjoy that

Additional thought: I know I've said before that I like the idea of having multiple OEMs trying their hand at Nexus devices, but I think I'm just realizing how much something like that could split the developer community. We may never again see a device that unifies developers like the Galaxy Nexus has.

Its a gorgeous fall day. We are headed to the orchard for some apples and then out to Mexican for dinner at a restaurant my brother raves about.

I actually think it would make it stronger as Roms built for any Nexus device would be easier to port to other Nexus devices. Now you have aosp Roms across various manufacturers that could then be further ported to non Nexus devices for that manufacturer. Of course, I'm not a ROM Dev, so that could be complete bunk too.:D

Hmmmm. Well running stock vanilla Android probably does mean that ROMs could be more easily ported. But does the manufacturer factor into things at all? Would the software of a Sony Nexus differ from that of a Motorola or LG Nexus?

I'm sure it would, but they would be running aosp so the only issue would be hardware differences.

Hey y'all.

I quite like the idea of multiple Nexi. Why?
Back in the days of the LG Ally, my first Android, one reason we couldn't run AOSP ROMs, despite having access to fastboot and, of course, root, was that LG wouldn't divulge proprietary info on cameras, radios, etc... this made for barely functional ports of CM 6/7. I wonder, if back in those days, had LG offered a Nexus, it may have given devs the window of insight to properly port AOSP ROMs to devices like the Ally?

How far we've come since 2008! Though I started in 2010, to be fair.

Morning everyone! another beautiful day this morning. Looks like sourcery is now at 2.3, they are recommending "wipe, wipe, wipe", looks like I am going to have to wait until later today.

Yeah I saw the 2.3 notification at about 3 this morning and immediately started my backups. Almost ready to wipe wipe wipe and flash flash flash! :D

What a nice surprise to wake up to! :D

EDIT: All restored. Up & running smoothly on 2.3!

Afternoon everyone. Another lazy day here. Was going to edge, my yard looks like a jungle, but kids have been playing with the batteries in my blower and flashlight. So much for that.
