No idea. It was plugged into the charger as is my custom when available. Then, I noticed it was not charging so I picked it up. It was very hot, i unplugged the charger and the micro usb tip burned my finger. That's when i sniffed the phone, it smelled burned. Tried a second charger, it immediately got blistering hot. Both chargers and the micro usb port on the phone are clearly fried, you can visibly see where they melted and smell it. I can only imagine what might have happened had i not picked it up. I have to take it to a store tomorrow to let them see it before they will proceed.

Yikes. I'm really sorry. Please give us as much info as you can! I'm sure we'd all like to avoid this if possible.

Probably another silly question:
Every time I plug in my headphones a silent icon appears. When I unplug them, sometimes it goes away other times not; as in return to normal speaker level.
Running CNA and using Rhapsody for music.
 
Good Morning all! I will take Nexie , her charger and both battery's into Verizon today and see what they say. The charging port is definitely fried as is the stock charger and a second charger I tried just to see if it was the phone or the charger. I don't know what caused it to do it in the first place, but Verizon call center thought it could jut be the charger that went so I tried a second charger and it immediately got hot and it too fried. It sure seems like it is originating in the phone, I am thinking it may be some kind of short. I have a desk top charger with a separate battery charger so of course I thought i was in the clear as far as juice. That is until I got up this morning and the external charger had not charged the battery at all overnight....hmmm.
 
Hey Anti, I am wondering the same thing. I was on the extended battery, i have put it back on the desk top charger and will see if it was perhaps not seated correctly the first time (kinda unlikely) see if it picks up a charge. I know the desk top battery charger was working a couple of days ago.
 
Morning BB, Pup, and Dread! I just have that feeling that it is going to be a good day. So far has some pretty good news this week. Google refunded me the $100 my son charged via in-app purchase :p, and got final approval on my mortgage refinance, so will be closing in the next few days. $250 per month lower payment, plus no mortgage payment in Oct, so will be a nice little boost in our Christmas/savings budget.
 
Congrats Anti! If we weren't trying to sell our house we would be refinancing too. I could cut my interest rate in half and save about the same amount you are.

Happy hump day everyone...so I was back to work yesterday...not fun.
(Wife...still getting used to that) Better-half goes back to work today....wish we had some more time off this week. But we have a weekend trip coming soon, and trying to get our life back to normal. Been so busy, its hard to find time to just sit down...

I feel your pain Ryan. Wife and I got married on a Saturday, spent the night in a nice hotel that night with a late checkout on Sunday then Monday was back to work for both of us. We didn't get any time off until Thanksgiving (married in August) when we took our honeymoon.
 
BTW, anyone running AOKP B3 yet? I'm running it on my N7 and it's the smoothest I've run on it lately. Really starting to get a full feature set on it now. The only thing not working STILL is the editable screen brightness levels. Crashes the settings every time.
