Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Is it considered a nightmare if you dream about your ex wife and mother in law? It woke me up and I can't get back to sleep!

I can't think of any scenario where that is a good dream. Ok, yeah I can. They just dropped off 3 cases of beer, apologized for everything they ever did wrong to you, and announced they are moving to Europe. :D

Morning folks! Wednesday night/yesterday morning was quite the adventure. Wife apparently got food poisoning and couldn't keep anything down. After just a couple of sips of water, a few minutes later it would come back up. So after about 10 hours of her throwing up every hour we went to the ER and they got a couple of liters of fluid in her and some nausea medication. Didn't get home and get any real sleep till about 9AM.

She's feeling a little better today, obviously weak and very sensitive stomach still, but able to keep fluids down. So things are back on the up and up.

Nice, just 2 weeks out from moving back to the land of sunshine, and what do I get in Chicago?

Sunshine and warm weather!

Argh!

Took my bed sheets and comforter to the laundromat. A lady there said bald looks good on me. My response...I know.

Geek, sorry to hear about your wife! Give her our best wishes.

Just poking my head to make sure you're all doing well :) Definitely need to update my ROM, the GNex has been been crawling lately and getting lots of force reboots. I think I asked this last time I came around, but what ROM are you guys all using lately? Is the newest version of JBsourcery better on battery life? I definitely need something that's going to let me get more use out of the phone. I'm getting around 4 hours usually these days before I need to hit the charger.

Also, what's the latest on the Moto X? Is that still the most appealing successor for when we're all due for upgrades?

I'm currently running jailbroken 6.1.2 :p

I have my eyes open on the Moto X and the Note III though.

Found this and thought of everyone here.

Uh oh. Perhaps I've waited too long to update my ROM. My phone is now stuck in a restart loop :/ Not a bootloop, it does get to my menu screen, but before it can load everything, it restarts all over again.

...Anyone got any thoughts? Haha.

EDIT: Tried a battery pull, blowing out some dust, etc, put battery back in.. same thing. Gets to menu screen, but before icons load, it goes back into reboot. Argh.

Hmm, I haven't made a backup in a while either - bad Android owner :o

Honestly, I'm considering just doing a factory reset. Should I even bother? Does that bring me back to the stock ROM/kernel? I doubt it will re-lock the bootloader, but maybe it would undo some of the damage I've done. Can I get a system dump of all my apps without getting into my phone before I erase everything?

A factory reset will delete USER data on the phone... but it won't fix a corrupt ROM. You can try just re-flashing the ROM / Gapps without a data wipe. That may fix your issues and you won't lose anything.

Do NOT, though, try to dirty flash from your old ROM to a new one. That will require a full wipe :)

I mean, I'd love to do a full wipe and go to a new ROM, but I can't get my phone functional enough to put the new ROM files on it. Argh.

Will try re-flashing - thanks!

No, I can go into recovery, thankfully. But how can I upload files onto my phone from recovery mode?

Haha, yikes, I forgot I finally installed TWRP on this thing.. but I haven't used it yet :o I have no idea how to flash things!

EDIT: Okay, re-flashed the ROM and GApps, did not wipe anything. Crossing my fingers.

EDIT2: Ugh, still won't stay on more than a few seconds before restarting. Aaaand I lost my JBsourcery customizations. :(
