Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Thanks to dread and BB for the input. How about kernels? Everyone either running stock or LeanKernel? I'm thinking of trying something else.

Morning sleepy WH. Cooper is getting better at this no bottle thing. Daddy and Mommy are happy.

Gotta run. Church at 1030a and then the gym. Oh yeah, I joined a gym because I am 15+ lbs over weight ever since I quit my job and I gotta do something to help me quit smoking cigarettes. Wish me luck!

That GripGo seems like a great idea... until you read the reviews on Amazon. It BARELY gets 2 stars, because the suction cup won't hold to the windshield.

It's very similar to Capta, but for cars. I'd love to get one: IF they fix that suction cup.

Very interesting, I thought for sure any problems would be coming from the part that the phone is supposed to stick to!

By the way, a few questions for anyone on Jelly Belly/JDX: Under the "Mods" section in the JDX 13.1 thread, there's one just titled "Audio Fix." Anyone know what this is for? Also, the instructions mention flashing a new bootloader and new radios - are these strictly necessary? It does say "not required," but what exactly do they do? What's the function of flashing a new bootloader? Are the new radios more effective? Thanks a ton in advance.

When I was using Jelly Belly 13.1 I flashed the audio fix because it kept the volume from decreasing to the setting it's at when you first flash.

As far as the new bootloader and radios, that is up to you. You may have already flashed the Jelly Bean bootloader. PRIMECL03 is the newest. If I'm not mistaken, FG02/FF02 are the latest radios. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Jake put that in there in case you want the latest stuff. Most would recommend it. I certainly had both flashed. That said, it is optional. Some report faster boot times and better handoff speeds, respective to each file.

13.2 and 13.3 have the audio fix built in, FWIW.

Hope that helps.

Happy Sunday y'all!

Thanks a ton jmar. I'm way behind on flashing anything, I'll probably need to do everything, I'm still on 4.1. The radios listed in the JDX thread at Rootzwiki are listed as "JDQ39", not sure what that means.

Two things Razor. You're welcome BTW. My pleasure. :)

First things first buddy...this is a must do: update your recovery to the latest version. 4.2 introduced multiuser profiles. Even though it isn't active on phones, without some extra hacking, it made some changes to the way the file system for the virtual SD card is handled; particularly in recovery. If you want a more in depth explanation shoot me a PM. Long story short, before flashing anything, update your recovery to the latest version. NOT AN OPTION MY GOOD FRIEND. :D

JDQ39 refers to the build of Android to which you are updating (4.2.2). The OTA to this version also updated the radios. Some people are calling these radios by the Android build version which brought it about. It isn't the most conventional way to refer to these radios, but at this point I will assume it makes sense with this little explanation. :)

Lastly, after you have updated to the latest recovery, but before you flash a 4.2.x based ROM, make a nandroid backup.

Happy flashing ol' pal!

Had a pretty good day. In DC area tonight and because nearly everything is closed on Sunday nights we ended up at Mortons Steakhouse for dinner. MMMMMMM......meat. I love a good steak and I certainly wasn't disappointed tonight ....ribeye (still a bit bloody) with cracked peppercorns.
Tomorrow I'll be at Arlington for a ceremony for (follow along here) my aunt's stepson's wife's parents. I find Armed Services ceremonies to be quite interesting so, in a way, I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Then a reception at the hotel we're all at tomorrow afternoon and home on Tuesday. I'm hoping to get over to see some of the monuments before we leave though.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
