Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning!! Its was a good weekend and its not a bad Monday either. I got a job and had a bunch of my friends over for dinner. So far today I'm sitting at the dealership waiting to hear what's wrong with the car but free coffee and WiFi have made it an easy wait.

Free coffee and wife and great. Good luck at the new job.

Happy birthday BB! If you have Redds Apple Ale in your area then mix it with some Fireball Whiskey. It is delicious!

Waiting on Verizon S4 bootloader news and then I'll decide if I'm sticking with the Nexus, going to the S4 or continue to wait and hope for a new Nexus on Verizon.

Is BB trying to catch up to me? I know she's tryin'...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BB!

Hmm, anyone know why the JBsourcery thread says "DO NOT use Titanium Backup to restore data for anything other than games"?

I still do exactly what my Guide says to do and I have never had a hiccup. Back up EVERYTHING. Restore apps, app data and VERY select system elements (call log, SMS/MMS, alarms).

Not sure why JBS suggest that there are problems with TiBU, but I've yet to encounter one.

DSB you dodge the crap today? This tornado thing is heartbreaking, especially a direct hit on the elementary school.

Yeah, we got hit yesterday. Only an EF-1 by the airport and lots of nasty hail and wind. My car is vaguely golf ball like now. I'm not sure what the topography is that causes big tornados to roll through Moore, OK but this is the 2nd EF-5 in the last 15 years and there have been several other smaller ones in between. We were watching live feeds at work, 2 elementary schools got direct hits but one, nobody was killed and no major injuries. The other appears to be much worse...

Thanks Chief. We get some ridiculous weather here in the central US. The closest one to me that size was the 1991 Andover tornado and I don't wish that on anyone. Thoughts definitely going out to everyone in OKC.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Very reminiscent of the Tuscaloosa tornado and the one that struck just a couple of miles from where I work in 2011. I was involved in the cleanup in that one and it was very heartbreaking. Prayers go out to these folks.

I find it hard to even think about it. They had a relatively large warning, and did exactly what they were supposed to do. It was an area that has been hit multiple times in the recent past, so shelters were numerous, and up to date. And yet all that didn't matter. The movie Twister has a scene where an actor calls an F5 tornado as "The finger of God", and it seems accurate given the images. Nothing can protect against something like that.

I have had a close call, the worst outbreak in FL history was where I lived, remember those storms acutely, the most terrifying ones of my life. 41 people died that night.

Tornado Damage Charleston Square - YouTube

This is the apartment complex I lived at when I attended The University of Alabama. That tornado happened long after I left, but everytime there is a tornado like the one yesterday it always makes me think what if.

Anti, you're right. The most accurate description of an EF5 would be the finger of God. I've seen firsthand what it can do. Literally rips asphalt off of the road.

Isn't this pretty much common place overseas? I'm not saying it is right or wrong. I just think "racier" television is normal across the pond?

"Across the pond" here...:)
Not saying right or wrong either.
Profanity. Is that cursing?

A lot of stuff shown on our tv comes from the usa. Half from usa pay tv, half from public cable I guess. Banshee and Homeland are shown on public cable here (uncut/uncensored).

There is no regulation on contents, but it is common sense/self regulated. And we have rating for parental guidance, like cursing, violence, the thingy two people play, and a couple of advised minimum ages.
