Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Ah, the write-up I read was misleading then. It said the S4 would be the first.

I have to admit, these Lumia phones are pretty serious. My Dad loves his and I've tinkered with it a bit and like it too.

Yeah, though the pre-order allowed people to buy there's first, the Lumia was able to be in hand first. Though it remains to be seen which one gets the update to enable it first. Either way, I know my city won't even get AWS LTE, Verizon actually sold that spectrum here in Rochester to T-Mobile for their LTE.

Anything in particular you're looking for? And I second the 5/6 spd option; I will never drive another automatic by choice again, not enough control of the car.
Looking for a Volkswagen MK3/MK4 with a VR6 motor in it - whether its a GTI or a Jetta either is fine.

I need to really put my car back to stock and see what its truly worth if I sell it privately.

I was looking at that too, before I settled on my Impreza. Wish I would have splurged a bit and went for the WRX. Only reason I didn't is because it was only a 5 speed and with the HP it has, it should be a 6 speed. The redesign is this year, so I'll see where it's at when my lease is up.

You had no luck with them or just found the Impreza that met your price, etc?

Yeah the big reason is that I want to get out my automatic rabbit and get into something manual. Its just way more fun to drive.

Except in major traffic. Its the only time I hate driving manual.

But every time I say that to someone that drives manual, they tell me its totally made up for when you have an open road to drive on.

Its time for a change anyway - I've been in this car for almost 6 years now.

If I wanted the WRX, I would have likely had to special order it because there are so few produced. That would have taken too much time because the transmission on my current car at the current time was dying, so I needed one somewhat soon. Price was also better as well which helped, but downgrading from potential 276HP to 148HP was a drag.

I agree. Though that one negative is easily outweighed by many positives in my opinion, especially where I live. Very little traffic for a city of this size, brutal winters with lots of snow so the manual gives more control, and just general enjoyment. This car also has a hill assist feature that prevents the car from rolling back on hills. It was shocking when I discovered it, that's for sure.

Well if anyone knows anyone selling a car that meets my criteria in the NJ/NY (tri-state area but ill drive some) please feel free to let me know.

Basically any manual Volkswagen MK3 or MK4 with a VR6 motor in it. GTI or Jetta - will look at either.

Thanks!

I wish you luck. Just did a quick search on cars.com and 98 Golf GTI came up in michigan. That's it. :(

Just to weigh in on the auto/manual debate. Manual wins for cars. I don't think I would want a manual truck. If you live in an area where it's mostly open roads, the manual is way more fun. If you drive in congested traffic every day you'll hate it. I'm lucky to have both. If I know I'm going somewhere with lots of traffic congestion I take my truck eventhough I know I'll pay double in gas for the trip. If it's mostly open roads or just joy driving, I take the Mustang :)

I think I may put my car back to stock and try to sell it before buying something first so I have cash in hand for it.

I don't NEED the car as I don't drive to work and my fiancee drives me to the train in the morning in her car so I think that may be the best route and also once my car is gone, I will be much more motivated to try to find something I really want to buy.

Sup y'all!

I also can't wait to get into a new vehicle. I love manual transmissions as well. I like the feeling of using all four limbs to control my vehicle. It feels more natural than just steering an automatic.

OT

Personal news: So I've been out of work for three months (if you don't know or remember or read back, I quit Starbucks after 6 years).

I just got an interview at Best Buy to work in Mobile in sales. Now, I was a Store Manager at Starbucks, but I'm still excited! If my experience at Starbucks has taught me anything, it is most definitely possible to move up in a company. I figure to get the job no problem (one manager was a former customer of mine and had been trying to recruit me for two years), but of course there is a chance I won't. Anyway, if I get the job I know I will get promotions. That's my outlook on this!

Also, I have an interview coming up with an Acura dealership as well as I'm am looking to get a second job so my Wife can quit working at Starbucks (as a Supervisor) and stay at home like she wants.

Wish me luck y'all.

Larry Page once said, that Technology should do all the hard work. I would agree with him on this, but if you are used to it, and better driving like that, then that's alright, me on the other hand, I can't wait to get a Google "Auto Pilot" Vehicle. Driving sucks!!!

Driving us cool and fun! And since I like to be in control: no automatic.

I wouldn't want total control over everything. I just know I'll make a mistake one day, and hopefully I'll make it through. Most accidents are made by human error, not machine. We don't know what others will do, we don't know if their turning, or if they are even going to break. We can't communicate with other vehicles therefore if one of us make a mistake, it can cause more than one life.

I am inspired by the projects that Google is working on, especially the Google Auto Pilot car. (Auto pilot sounds better than driver less). The vehicles will be able to communicate with each other, they will know when one is turning, or when one is breaking even before it does break. Driving will be more efficient, and less accidents. For a vehicle, I don't want any control over it, unless I have to take control.

When they become legal here in the States, Which I know that some day in the future they will become legal, I'm going to drop what money I can to get one. But still, another problem is fuel. Gas, hybrids, and electric vehicles all suck!! We need to develop some kind of energy, man made or something like that.

So yeah, manual for me, I love my mazdaspeed3. Clicking through the gears has to be one of the best stress reliefs out there.
