Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

A while ago I watched Jack the Giant Slayer. Or what I thought was Jack the Giant Slayer? That one was HORRIBLE. Last night I finally watched the Hollywood one. I liked it. It was a nice, fun movie. Just what I need to watch after 4 straight days of hot temperatures in a locomotive shop. The cold beer helped too! :)

And the S4 has been running through my head all day today..

I'm more surprised that he builds a nuclear reactor in highschool, graduates, and is headed to the north Dakota school of mines.

I'm sure its a fine school and all, but you'd think thered be an ivy league full ride in there

SD School of mines if I'm not mistaken is turning out the absolutely highest paid graduates in the country right now. (with 4 year degrees that is) not a bad career decision by the young man if you ask me.

I would have never guessed that, I'd never heard of them. Thanks for clearing that up

Good morning all - happy Monday.

Went to my first NASCAR race yesterday at Dover - what an awesome track. Really exciting to watch and totally different than what you see on TV. Got really sunburned and my ears are ringing, but overall an awesome day with the in-laws (which is always cool).

I'm not sure if good or bad?

Arnold Schwarzenegger upcoming projects: Terminator 5, Legend of Conan, and Triplets(I'm guessing a Twins sequel). All have scripts being worked on now.

Morning/afternoon everyone :) Hope everyone had a good weekend and nobody has a case of the Mondays :p

I'm going to share a personal story/bit news below, read if you want, it's kinda long. :)

*First off, this does contain Chritian/relilgious material that I will not apologize for. It's who I am. It isn't meant to offend you at all, but if you choose, you can stop here.*

The past year to year and a half has been pretty rough at times for me and the wife. Last February, we learned we were expecting our first child. Went in for the first ultrasound at 6 weeks and everything looked good: the heart rate was right where it should be, the baby was the right size for that stage of development, etc. We were really excited and the next day told our family. About a week later we were in the ER at midnight being told that no heartbeat could be found and my wife was going through a misscarriage. We were devestated to say the least.

The next few months were rough. Seemed like everyone we knew was announcing a pregnancy or having a baby every week. We decided we were going to continue trying since we thought that wold be the best way to ease the pain of a loss like that. However, not to get into much detail, but after a miscarriage it kind of throws the body for a loop...so the next several months were unsucessful. Then in September we found out we were pregnant again only to repeat miscarry a week later.

At this point we decided we were going to get serious about searching for God's purpose in all of this. Maybe we missed something, maybe we were supposed to adopt, maybe this was just something we had to go through to be of help/comfort to someone else down the road, etc. We decided to give up some things and replace them with more prayer and Bible study time. It wasn't anything extreme, but things we realized were taking up more time than they should in our lives and honestly, some of which was adding to our grief and hindering the emotional healing process.

We also got referred to a reproductive endocrinologist who, after all his tests, found nothing wrong. He decided to do a round monitoring and a dosage of chlomid, which didn't work. Then he decided to try a different drug that was supposed to do the same thing but worked a little differently.

The women in my wife's prayer group decided at this point to take a leap of faith and threw my wife a little mini-shower. One of them was slightly prophetic...more on that in a bit.

Now for the part I've been busting to tell for weeks!
After months of prayers from several friends and family, I can say they have been answered :D My wife is now out of her first trimester and everything has went 100% smooth. She is due December 3rd.

Now for the prophetic gift...the woman explained to my wife that after praying about it for days she couldn't decide which gender of onesie to get, so instead of getting a neutral, she got one of each. Wouldn't you know it......it's TWINS ;) We don't know the genders yet, so we don't know if the prophecy is 100% true, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be true. I find it absolutely amazing that instead of buying one gender-neutral gift like the others did, she bought one of each.

God is good folks :) I'm truly blessed!

Please remember and pray for my poor wife over the next 6 months, lol. She started getting morning sickness (all-day sickness) at 5 weeks and it hasn't let up at all.

gEEk,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us brother. Your Wife and babies will be in our prayers. God bless.

I bet! But after what you and the Wife have been through it must be tough to share. Glad you did though. I speak for the hole when I say that we all are in your corner brother.

Hey Geek. Kudos for you and the lady. This is sooo wonderful news! Very happy for you blessed people ♥

December 3 eh? December 5 is a dutch childs fest: Sinterklaas. (Probably the source of your christmas Santa Claus). Two babies would make the best gift ever!

So,

I was gonna put this in the "Grinds My Gears" thread but I thought you all might answer sooner.

I have HuluPlus and Netflix. For some reason, neither have Season 10 of Family Guy. It is driving me nuts lately and I was wondering if you all knew if Amazon Prime had it. I really don't want a third streaming service, heck, I'm already paying for All Access on top of everything else, but I really want to watch Season 10.

Thanks in advance.

I have Amazon Prime. You have to pay for each episode of Family Guy.

What a truly moving WH Post. Yourself and your Wife are in my thoughts and prayers. December due date. It's certainly going to be a Christmas like no other. Take Care. Blessings to you and yours....
