Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Yeah, right. ;)

Honestly though, what about the prime, other than their weird weight distribution, didn't meet your needs that the chromebook does?

I like the keyboard on my Chromebook MUCH more. The trackpad on the Prime is pretty bad. Screen on the Prime is tons better. I don't know, I think it's just 99.9% of what I do on a computer is within Chrome so I don't need everything on the Prime.

Allergic to chicken?!
Not that I eat much of it, but that's a bit of a downer.
Just happy to have no food allergies (that I know of). If I ever develop a gluten allergy, it'd be game over for me. No bread, no beer, no fun. :(:p

Woot, ROM I'm on is updated to be 4.3 based. :)
Flashing now. Going dirty and crossing my fingers (yeah that sounds terrible but you know what I mean ;)).

Ya, we all know... and you know I am doing you a huge favour by not fixing this post for ya :D Just saying ;)

So, since I've been out of the loop for a while, what is everyone excited about?

I was a bit underwhelmed by the Moto X; the internals are good enough, but I don't like the non-1080p, sub-5" screen.

Are you guys thinking of the Moto X, something else, or maybe even leaving Verizon?

And yes, I'm bored at work.

The X's 720p screen is RGB - more subpixels per inch than the SGS4 1080p PenTile layout and 50% more subpixels than the GNex. That's a first for an AMOLED at this resolution and the screen will update faster because it cuts the number of pixels in half.

I'm not thrilled about the camera - again.

Oh sure, you prove your point with the facts but what about...I got nothing.

Wow, quite snappy. Probably from a fresh install (yeah, had to go back and factory reset :o), but nice. :D

Not that interested in a phone upgrade that much, but hey September 4th is coming fast.....
Jhawk, looks like the Note 3 in the US should be using a Snapdragon 800. Do you think it'll help with AOSP ROM development?

Hi Han!

I am dead set on the X. I am tired of chasing specs: the user experience is what I'm after, and the X is everything the Droid should have been but isn't. They're just too mean and industrial looking... whereas the X is so sleek and, well, nice. Plus the Skip is cool. I'm waiting on the 32GB Developer Edition to hit.

I'm retired... every day is a Monday :p but the calendar says it's Friday and a Labor Day weekend at that! Happy weekend to you!

Get used to it.

At least it's better when EM get's his post in before yours instead of immediately following it.:p

I left Verizon for AT&T and already have my Moto X. Ordered my wife's this week and it should be here next week.

Build quality is great, performance is MUCH better than the internals would have you believe. I highly doubt you'll ever notice a difference in the performance of the Moto X and the S4/HTC One.

As Early pointed out, you can tell a huge difference with this screen being true 720p RGB instead of the pentile arrangement. Color just look richer and things look noticeably sharper.

The touchless commands are EXCELLENT. They work flawlessly for me. I've never had it fail to respond immediately when saying "OK Google Now". Yesterday I experienced the first incoming call while driving with this phone. I got a call within 2 minutes of getting in my car and getting moving. The Moto X rang once and then told me who was calling and gave the option to accept or reject with my voice. I said "Accept" and it immediately accepted the call and turned on speaker phone. I never had to touch the phone.

Battery life is outstanding. I have no idea how they stretch a 2,200 mah battery that far, but so far I have made it from 5AM to 10PM or later without charging and with over 3 hours of screen on every day.

If you liked your GNex at all, you'll LOVE the Moto X. Better performance, better screen, much better battery, better build quality, and equal or better camera quality.

I'm not thrilled about the camera - again.

Early, I'm happy with the quality of the camera. I don't expect great results from a cell phone. The best I have seen is my Dad's Nokia Lumia. A cell phone will always be a minimal use camera for me. If it takes good enough pics to be recognizable, then I'm fine with it. A cell phone will never replace my dSLR and the Moto X is good enough to not want to carry my compact point and shoot everywhere. Very few times do I want better quality than I know the Gnex (now Moto X) will provide but NOT want to take my SLR.

Glad to hear some good news about it, geek.
Still doesn't look like much of an upgrade to my S3. Screen resolution and processor speed aren't as tantamount to having good battery life and an excellent camera (plus an SD card slot!!!). Hoping the Note 3 has all of these.

Set my skip up last night and wearing it on that little pocket (you know, the seemingly useless pocket inside the right side pocket in your jeans) so when I pull my phone out it's unlocked already :)

I'm waiting on the 32GB Developer Edition to hit.

Why? Most likely no custom colors for an unlocked bootloader so you can flash ROMs? I think I'm done with ROMs. I might root, but I don't even know if I'll do that.
