Hey everyone, long time no see
I'm liking those pics of the Nexus 5, hoping we get some more news soon. My GNex has certainly seen better days, thinking it's time to upgrade soon. Like Han a couple pages ago, I've been out of the game. What are the big names now -- just the G2, Moto X, and SGS4? What are people leaning towards to make the first change away from our precious Nexus?
I think most of us are going to one of the following.
Samsung SGS4
Note3
LG G2 (That's what I just did)
HTC One
Moto X
or......(drumroll)
Nexus 5
From all appearances, the Nexus 5 won't be offered on Verizon. I still burn a candle for it, but probably not going to happen. Especially if the suspected FCC report is indeed the Nexus 5. It's entirely possible that there may be a different Verizon based model number for the Nexus 5 (just like our Galaxy Nexus), but I doubt it.
If it wasn't for unlimited data, I'd probably jump ship. But not doing that now. The G2 is basically a Nexus 5 anyway, although I think in final form the G2 will have better overall hardware specs. Google may cheap out in some areas to keep costs down, which is admirable, but I think they should offer a true flagship, not a watered down version.
The GNex had a good run, and it was my favorite phone for a while, but the G2 is pretty frickn sweet. Best screen, best camera, best battery life I've ever seen on a phone. I've been unplugged for 4 hours and still at 100% battery. It's nice that at the end of the day you still have 75% and estimated time remaining is 70hrs!

Obviously that's light use, but this phone will last. A super bright screen that you can actually see outside, plus it is 5.2" in a form factor that's not bigger than the SGS4 (or GNex for that matter). Note 3 will have a bigger screen, but in a package that's a lot bigger as well.
Only complaint some have are the back buttons. Honestly, I don't even use them. I thought the knock-knock turn on/off feature was stupid, but in reality it's great. Just a quick double tap and the phone turns on.
